A great anthology of the groups first 5 albums. Some really good listening.

I had never heard of this band thought I’d take a shot at it noticed a few band members names. Very good music I was impressed I’m going to Bergers more of their music give them an A+ kick back crank the stereo up and have a smoke And Munchies he’ll need them just an old hippie with my opinion Peace out brother and sister have a wonderful day

Great value. Great music. This kid is a Big Thing NOW! If you do not have his early work, then get on the Love Train. The cost of this ticket is today's best buy. Derek and his wife, Susan, are a Family Band in the vibe of Delaney and Bonnie. They are The Tedeski-Trucks Band. This collection is Derek's early teenage work, prior to becoming a family man and Dr facto head of The Family. Derek was, and is, channeling Duane Allman and Robert Randolph, his contemporary who plays fundamentalist, House of God, full-gospel steel guitar in a secular family band. On these recordings you can find just about any kind of influence. These influences include other folks music, e.g., Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Sun Ra, King Curtis, etc.

These are classics and The Derek Trucks band is a great band. It's great to have all these in one set.

This is a great way to get the DTB library in one box for a reasonable price. I wish it had good liner notes.

I was expecting a bit more blues, but got, I dunno what you call it, some sounds from the east. It's not just blues, it's jazz and noodling and melodic. Not just one thing, but then you have a progression over time with this large set. Liner notes are non-existent. Some bonus songs have not credits. But the music is great. Pre-cursor to Tedeschi Trucks Band. Worthy.

Recently, I discovered the Original Album Classic series and was surprised when I found some real gems in the collection, at an affordable price. I listened to many Derek Trucks’ Band albums and songs, but never bought physical media. Recently, I decided to restart collecting the LPs and CDs of albums that I appreciate, and I found, among the others, this collection of the four Derek Trucks’ CDs recorded between 2003 and 2009. As a guitarist, Derek is a virtuoso and innovative player, and as a composer he is excellent and always fresh. His band is a group of accomplished professionals that give their best in every song. Although my favorites are the albums Songlines and Soul Serenade, the other two , Live at Georgia Theatre and Already Free are also excellent. Anyways, if you like good music, you shouldn’t miss this collection. Absolutely recommended.

The last review has nothing to do with Derek Trucks,but with Amazon's listing.The set here is the DT band,and a great set it is,too.If you know the artist,you'll know he has been a child prodigy,mainstay of the Allman Brothers Band(with Wrren Hayes),until their recent demise,and has a distinctive sound---Phil Lesh once said you could tell Derek immediately,and you can.Coverinf a diverse range off styles,jazz,soul,blues,rock,Indian style raga,,he is never disappointing,never in a stylistic rut.For me,these are as close to the Derek Trucks sound as you can have,I'm not so keen on the Trucks/Tedeschi Band,which he has with his wife,where,to my ears,he is a little more subdued than in these recordings.For anyone who loves the Allmans,Santana,the Dead,Gov't Mule,and isn't too familiar with Derek Trucks,ths is a fine bargain.
