Very quiet
Love this filter/pump. The video has sound....but you can't really hear the pump its so quiet! I haven't got fish in yet, but I see no reason to doubt its capabilities. On the advice of another reviewer, I have gone one size up. My tank is 25l, but I got the CF1. Very happy with purchase and love the environmentally friendly filters.

Item arrived ... but I noticed that it had a big rattle noise coming from the botom of the unit. I plugged it in and started it going, but there was almost 0 water flow through it. I thought the bottom section was sealed , but decided to actually read the manual ... actually the bottom comes off so you can clean/service the unit... and a small plastic piece had come away..I pushed it back on , plugged it in and off it went - now doing what it should be doing... I notice that some other reviewers have had the same issue... The unit is not as fast as the Marina S1 which it replaced , but it's half the cost and half the noise also... so hopefully the fish is happier with it !

Product Quality is hit and miss it seems
This filter is a direct replace for the "I love pets" aquariums sold by Pets at home in UK, the original filter with the 12 volt power head lasted for years (4+ years if memory serves) , this CF2 mains powered 240 volt replacement was relatively quite at first, but within couple of months became so noisy, and with the noise the flow power declined, cleaning made no difference, so I replaced it with a Fluval U3 but sadly while it has a way more powerful flow, it too has issues, as once the filter media got relatively dirty/full it would become noisy and if it wasn't cleaned shortly there after would stop all together (this is really bad), not sure if my unit is just a lemon, the only benefit was once cleaned the quiet returned... that said 2 and 1/2 years later U3's Impeller is done and replacement parts (suspected the Impeller shaft was always duff) cost a ridiculous £39 an U3 media is way more expensive than the CF2 to boot... hence why I'm looking at the CF2 again... but despite 2 years passing the short cord, noisy operation, low flow issues are still reported for CF2, so I'm not sure if its worth the gamble. If interpret fixed the CF2 issues I'd gladly pay ~£40 for the CF2 , as filter media option wise its probably better than the Fluval U3.

Good little filter
I am impressed with this filter and is a good addition to my set up. If you would like a filter that hangs onto the tank but you cannot have a filter like that because you have to have a lid on the tank or you haven't got space for an out of tank filter then this filter is a good compromise. The filter comes with 3 stages of filtration and I must admit I find them fiddly to get into the filter but once set up it seems to work well. I will be changing the media eventually as there is plenty of room in the body of the filter to customise it in whatever way you want to with the only limitation being the weight as the filter is held on with suction cups however these suction cups have a strong hold and as yet I have not had the filter move at all. You can have the filter located as high or low to the water level that suits your set up and the higher it is the more air it will create due the waterfall style return. The maintainance of the filter is easy to carry out and takes only a matter of minutes which is due to the cartridges that the media comes in. Although I have felt the filter is a little fiddly to set up it could be because I have mobility issues with my hands, I do feel this filter is a great addition to my set up and have already recommended it my son, it has a good flow and has stayed where I put it, it is easy to clean and you have the option to customise.

Way too noisy, bad fit and poor pump.
Came with what I assume was a wrong part - it wouldn’t hang on the side of my Interpet aquacube tank as the hanger piece was badly sized and had a bit sticking out of the bottom that touched the inside of the tank. The sound cushioning pieces didn’t fit properly and don’t dampen the sound as they didn’t touch the inside because of the hanger piece. Using the suckers its ridiculously noisy. The suckers are incredibly hard to get on again if the filter is moved and they pop off. This is the filter I was told to get to replace my original which broke. It is terrible and hasn’t even filtered a freshly cleaned tank properly. The instructions are also terrible and don’t actually seem to show the model of filter I am trying to install. Box artwork is equally vague.
