a very good introduction to VR gaming
This game presents a short story, set between the events of "Arkham City" and "Arkham Knight". The basic plot involves you, playing as Batman, engaging in a detective mission. If you're familiar with the Arkham series of games, you'll immediately recognise the characters and scenery of this particular game. In terms of the campaign, it's quite short - 60 to 90 minutes in length. Fortunately, there are some supplementary elements to the game - especially the task of collecting Riddler trophies. This was my first PS4 VR game - and I found it to be most impressive. It's very immersive … like you're inside the game. Once the VR headset is on, and the game playing, the first experience you have is of standing on the edge of a tall building, at night, in Gotham City - and as you look around (especially as you look over the edge of the building) there's a genuine sense of "being there". You use the Move Controllers as hands, and you're able to interact with the in-game environment. Objects can be touched and picked-up. It's this aspect of the 'virtual' experience that's fantastic - as it feels like you're really looking at 3D objects. As Batman, you can throw batarangs, use a grapple gun, and scan things. As this is more of a "detective" storyline than anything else, don't expect combat. Had there been in-game action sequences (fighting), as well as the availability to drive/pilot the car and plane, this would be a perfect game … but, sadly, these aspects are missing. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this game to anyone with (a) enjoys the Arkham series, and / or (b) wants to enter into the VR experience.

Some great moments, but could have been so much better...
Could have been so much better... If you've played the Arkham Games, it will help if you think of this as one of those little side-missions where Batman uses his detective gizmos to look for clues. That's what this game basically is. I've no problem with that. The next thing you need to know is that this game is SHORT. It's longer than one of the above-mentioned mini-games, of course. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I completed it in a single session (unintentionally) and was left with an overwhelming feeling of 'is that IT???' While it lasts, the game is excellent. It actually gave me a dizzy moment as I stood on the edge of a building looking down at Gotham. But... The ending... I don't remember when I last felt so let down by how a game ended. I won't spoil it, but... just don't build up your hopes for a satisfying ending. Personally, I was eager for the next scene, and couldn't quite believe there wasn't going to be any more. It felt more like I'd played the demo for the real game. Could have been utterly brilliant, but really isn't. Still probably a must-buy for Bat-fans, and with some jaw-dropper wonderful moments, but seriously.... that 'ending'...

This is an excellent immersive game.
This is an excellent immersive game. I recommend playing standing up and with 2 move controllers for the full experience. Beware if you are scared of heights though.

Game is ok. Story is really short but you have several puzzles to solve after. Very immersive.
