Very good and capable
I have owned this machine now for 3 months or so and as I am guilty of reading lots of reviews but not writing many I thought I would give a rare review! However, much of what I would say has been rightly already said - a very good and versatile smoothie/maker and blender. I have a nutri blast every morning and bought a nutri bullet last year. After a while black stuff started leaking out of the bottom and within 12 months (of hard use) it started smoking. I thought I would give the Ninja a go although it is more expensive. But very well worth it. I do like the timer and auto programme which manages the preparation with a very easy one press option. I have also used the food processor option to grind up nuts etc effectively. I keep reading that it is loud but if you want to process food and make smoothies it is not a quiet job whatever the machine. The nutri bullet was noisier. One question I saw was about the chopping option. This works very well but be careful. The machine is so powerful that if you leave it too long you have very finely chopped onions!! Overall I love it. Well worth a little extra and makes spinach, broccoli and carrots for breakfast - almost - palatable!!

3 cheers for a product that does what it claims to do and moree.
Nutri Ninja Kitchen System with Auto IQ BL490UK We bought this product after a much loved Ladyship machine that we brought back to UK from Hong Kong expired after mqany years of daily use. We tried 2 or three other replacements from different sources but had to return these due to the motor not being powerful enough to do the job as advertised and therefore burning out after a few days. The Nutra Ninja machine arrived, on time and securely packed and has been in constant use ever since. It makes no claims as to being a quiet machine, after all it has a powerful motor and gets on with the job of producing just the blend and mixture as desired

Good quality! I blend different things
Good quality! I blend different things. I make hummus, also nutella with hazelnuts and smoothies. It is noisy. But good speed using different options in the panel and it's powerful. Also tells you the time that has been blending. Good price for value.

Great blender for hassle-free smoothies
Years ago we bought a juicer and, together with a conventional jug blender, have made many juices and smoothies. We did that to improve our health and get more fruit and veg into us. But a year or so later we were getting more and more lazy, since the juicer required us to peel and slice most veg and fruit. Come the new year I wanted to get one of these cup blenders, since they promised an easier approach and less waste than a juicer, since it keeps the fibre etc in. I did (of course) have a look at the nutri bullet but wasn't quite satisfied with what I saw. But my work recently started to offer healthier breakfasts, including smoothies, and I saw they used a nutri ninja. It was the basic machine (no IQ etc) but even though it must be making 100+ smoothies a day (big company) it was still working and seems pretty easy. After a bit of research I decided to go with the highest watts motor possible, partly because it promised more versatility and also the option of a food processor attachment. The delivery was quick, even three days early. I had also ordered two extra big cups and a recipe book, so I can try out new stuff to get used to the machine. The not so good points first: - the machine is loud! I use it before leaving for work and it's pretty loud, though not deafening. - the packaging contained ALOT of plastic. Buffering etc was done with card board but ever tiny little piece was wrapped in a clear plastic sheet/bag. I understand they try and keep things clean but they could have been more efficient and use less. Now the good parts: - clearly, the motor is strong! I have yet to find something it can't blend/extract. And it doesn't get hot. Though I am planning to try and make my own cashew nut butter soon, so stay tuned. - the safety. Apart from when you clean the blades everything is kept as safe as possible. The machine doesn't even switch on if you haven't clicked in a jug. - the simplicity of making a smoothie. When I used to make one with the juicer it could take me up to 30mins. Now it's 5! Though I do still peel certain fruit. - you don't have to peel most things if you don't want to. I made a smoothie with kiwi yesterday and peeled them. Today I simple chopped off both end bits and I couldn't taste/feel the difference! So all in all I am very happy and (so far) had a nice big smoothie for brekkie every morning since buying it.

A Very Noisy Dissapointment
I really wish I'd bought the standard blender as the Kitchen System is a waste of money. Positives. Powerful. Blending side of things is pretty good. Solid made. Easy to use. To make a run a go smoothie is easy and having two cups is great. Handles ice really well. Negatives Forget using anything else other than the blending cups because it will yield useless results. 1.2L food processing bowl Perfect size for a small kitchen. You get a set of blending blades and a "dough hook". Blending blades will not work unless you treat it like the blending cups. You need a lot of liquid in first items which are quite large. Trying to make a pesto just resulted in bits getting smacked against the side of the of bowl. Put in a bunch of spinach and once the main large bits are blended, again the rest just whizzed to the side of the bowl. Put in an onion or an apple that has a large surface area with liquid and this works amazing. Blending soups would be great but then you may as well just use one of the cups. Dough Hook. Throw it in the bin it does nothing. The issue is that the motor has lots of power but discernible torque adjustment. You get powerful or brutal. Add flour and water for dough and either it doesn't mix or it just makes a hole in the centre while the rest just stays out of reach. Noise. When I make smoothies in the morning I have taken to putting it in my bed with a duvet and pillow on top otherwise I'll wake up all my room mates and probably the neighbours. I purchased this as I run a blog regarding cooking in small spaces. The one thing I never addressed was the noise factor until I used the Ninja. One time my upstairs neighbours asked me if I was drilling at 6am! Now its blending in a bed - the noise is crazy loud. Also don't believe the hype that you get super smooth smoothies. It's not going to be like a bottle smoothie. This does not handle small hard things too well. Grape pips, strawberry seeds, flax seeds, pomegranate pips - they will all be there once you have blended the fruit. I should have spent less money on just the basic set as now I whenever I fill my self with healthy smoothie, it is never enough to fill the hole of disappointment.

I love smoothies and make them every day with my Ninja
I love smoothies and make them every day with my Ninja! It's really helpful to have the blade attach to the cup that you drink out of because it reduces effort and dishes and doesn't make a big mess. The larger container is the perfect size and has blended everything I've put in it perfectly. I'm so excited to try out new recipes that I never thought I would try like pesto or hummus. The settings are comprehensive and the IQ options are great. For juicing or blending, you press the IQ option and it will count down the seconds remaining until it's blended. I LOVE this product and recommend it to anyone who needs a blender/processor with enough options to create a wide range of dishes without needing so many separate gadgets, but not so many attachments that it makes your kitchen messy.

ver disappointed - poor quality, broken after less than 10 uses.
It is broken already. I only use this item intermittently and have only tried with the blender function for less than 10 times. The quality is poor. I am very disappointed.

Dangerously loud
It's an excellent blender, except the part where it caused it me tinnitus for about a week. You must wear hearing protection when using it!
