These are excellent jars. I have bought them in the past. They work as stated. I use them for many uses in my cooking and preparing foods.

I have MANY of these jars and love them. I use some for fermenting feed for my chickens and storing my strained honey. They are easy to clean and have held up well for the most part. I have cracked 2, and I'm not sure how so I gave them 4 stars for durability. The honey jars aren't moved a lot and have had no issues but I am always moving and refilling the fermenting feed so maybe I bumped it to much. On the down side, if a crack develops and you don't see it, everything will leak out BUT after using these for a long time and having at least 12 jars, this has been far and few between. If you bump it, check carefully for cracks but otherwise, it holds up very well and serves the purpose for which I wanted them.

When I received my shipment, I realized these jars are specifically made with kombucha in mind. I wanted glass jars to store extra water in instead of plastic jugs that can eventually leach chemicals into the water. Each jar comes with a linen (I think) cloth & large rubber band for making kombucha. So, I just put them in a bag & will find another use for them. I'm just so happy to have my water in a glass gallon container. The glass is great quality as well as the plastic lids. These 4 jars are a great value because they're much cheaper than buying 4 regular gallon jars individually. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Came in broken

I wanted these for several purposes, mainly food storage but also for fermenting. 1 fits a bag of flour perfectly! I hope to switch my kombucha over for my next batch, currently in a 1/2 gallon jar. Also wanting to make fire cider in one. It wasn’t a huge deal to me, but 3/4 didn’t have rubber bands (the extra items are packaged in each jar). The cloth is great, although I don’t recommend using if you have gnat problems as they could fit through the holes easily. Perfect for straining liquids though. Love the way these are securely packaged too! 10/10 recommend over the anchor 1 gal aluminum top jars if you are comparing the two.

Had to replace the thin lids that have funny inserts. The new lids screw on with a silicon seal instead. This is the only large jar size that is sold as a pack and can handle 350F instead of 212F. I checked so you don't have to.

Arrived on time. Well packed and unbroken.
