Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom: Holly's Magic Wand [DVD]

Excellent

Lots of episodes to enjoy, excellent value for the price although some rather shameless advertising of Ben and holly toys before the main menu comes up. My daughter wants them all for her birthday!

Having watched Peppa Pig many times with my 2 year old son, I was not surprised when he said he like Ben and Holly's little kingdom. He has been watching most of the afternoon and has given it the thumbs up! As with Peppa it is easy watching for adults(to a certain degree) and children alike. Loving Nanny Plum (formally known as Miss Rabbit) and her sarcastic undertones. Fabulous well worth a purchase for girls and boys too!

My daughter, who is 3 1/2 had watched Peppa Pig since the age of 2, but now feels she is too old for it. Since watching Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom, she feels the programme is more suitable for her age. The programme is about a small kingdom in a garden where elves and fairies live. The main characters are Ben Elf and Princess Holly, who is a fairy. Nanny Plum, the fairy minder of Holly, often accompanies Holly when she meets Ben to play with. Nanny Plum is a favourite, being helpful, but sometimes doesn't think before she speaks, which can get her into trouble. Look out for Gaston, a ladybird who lives in a messy cave, but who barks like a dog. My daughter finds that hilarious. Overall, I give this 5/5. It's a great programme and one I don't mind watching with my daughter, unlike some other programmes.

the ben and hollys little kingdom was a total hit with our little girl. its kept her ocupied for many a while, and put a huge smile on her face when we showed her what we had brought for her. very happy with this the dvd

My little girl, approaching 3 years of age, is a real fan of Ben & Holly and just loves watching this DvD. There is a good selection of episodes and she doesn't tire from watching them over and over again. I have to admit I get a giggle out of watching it with her as there is always something worth chuckling about for us older viewers!

Let me start I am a big fan of this show as our my kids, its very original,funny and has some great stories howwever if you have Nick Jnr in the UK do not buy this DVD the reason being is the episodes on this DVD seem to be on a constant loop on Nick JN. As of writing this review on 12th Nov 2010 every episode on this DVD has been played at least two times this past fortnight and they have only just started to slowly add new episodes. Imagine the sheer disapointment of your kids if you buy this DVD for xmas only to find that they have been watching all these episodes every day for the past few months on Nick Jnr. It wouldn`t be so bad if this DVD had some new episodes on it but every episodes is on Nick Jnr every week at some point so if you have virgin or sky you could just record them, but they are on so often there isn`t even any need to do that.

My daughter (2 and a half) absolutely adores Ben & Holly. We tape the episodes from the tv and let her watch one before her bedtime routine. We thought it would be handy to have the dvd so we could easily choose her favorite episodes from the first series. Yes the episode are great but the Dvd is so annoying. It is the first time I have seen this in a dvd. There is a very long advert for the Ben & Holly castle toy (which she actually has) that plays before you get to the menu of the dvd. Therefore in order to let her watch a short program we have to sit through this advert everytime. I would recommend to the producer of the dvd to run the adverts after the programs.
