The movie is really Scarlett Johansson's as is expected she knows what she is doing and dose it very well The rest of the cast is OK but I have to say they are not on screen a lot, Oh and the movie must have been funded from chine? there are a lot of subtitles bit of a pain to be honest. The idea of the story is good but as the movie progresses is off it sort of contradicts its self in the scientific ideas and the plot but its a si-fi film so it can be a mix up if it wants. Now one other thing the baddie they are well a bit I don't know overly graphic and shouty, but in comparison to the heroine they are frankly nothing he hasn't got a chance. The film has one big problem its the plot it doesn't seem to flow it gets confused and can't work out how to go from the great start point to one of the possible end points its weird but it has three plots the drug, the brain and relationships they never mesh. Now Luc Besson can do si-fi see The Fifth Element but here we see how good J.J. Abrams and Peter Jackson are I don't know how they work but the si-fi fantasy films they have done the plot work all the different bits mesh Now is this a film to bye if the price is in the £5/£6 range you should get it its good but not as good The Fifth Element. If like me you are a Scarlett Johansson fan get it this is in part the Black Widow film we were told was a possibility and I guess why there isn't one you don't copy cat at Marvel plus a sex bomb mummy not likely. If you have films like Push or Jumper get this the idea is good the cast are great and the look is brilliant though lot of stock film footage used cost motivated probably. I gave if five stars because I like Scarlett Johansson her performance was fantastic I like the plot idea in addition the movie looks great and the action stuff is OK. so bye it when the Price Is Right and see if you agree Review: Lucy dvd - Very good quality and service

Mental
This is all a bit nuts in an entertaining way - a vibrant, colourful, fast paced action thriller of sorts which may be a slightly acquired taste but it worked for me. An odd but arresting opening 15 minutes introduces us to Lucy (Scarlett Johansson) as she finds herself roped into a bit of drug trafficking. The drugs implanted implanted inside her have an unexpected effect though, massively increasing her brains capacity (just go with it). So we then follow Lucy as her brain develops and things get increasingly bonkers/brilliant. She can access long distant memories, tap into other people's brains, control electronic devices with her mind, withstand great pain, change her hair colour at will (?!) and that's all just for starters. The plot takes a few unusual turns and things generally steer away from standard thriller territory to give us something a bit different, inventive and imaginative. There's still a decent amount of gunplay and a car chase though to keep things lively. Johansson carries most of the load nicely, the always dependable Morgan Freeman is hanging around to give us some handy exposition and Choi Min-sik of Oldboy fame adds some snarl and menace as our antagonist. Director Luc Besson brings his usual sense of visual style to proceedings and it's all shot through with a sly sense of humour to stop things getting too po-faced. So overall, a slick enjoyable package, worth checking out for something a bit different.

Stylish, Fast-Paced Sci-Fi That Looks Fantastic
Lucy is a wild, stylish sci-fi film, and the Blu-ray release does it absolute justice. The picture quality is razor sharp, with bright colours, clean detail, and smooth action scenes that really pop in HD. The sound is just as impressive—dialogue is clear, the soundtrack hits hard, and the action sequences feel powerful without being overwhelming. The film itself is a fun mix of action, philosophy, and pure chaos. Scarlett Johansson carries the whole thing effortlessly, and the pace never drags. It’s one of those films that you can rewatch and still enjoy purely for the visuals and momentum. The Blu-ray loads quickly, the menus are clean, and it includes a few nice extras that give some insight into the ideas behind the film. For the price, it’s excellent value, especially if you’re building a sci-fi collection. A slick, entertaining movie with top-tier Blu-ray quality—well worth owning.

A brilliant, exciting head-trip
Bonkers. Be prepared for something truly bonkers. That's all I'd say to someone who wanted a concise description of what to expect from this movie. While it is filled with the attitude and strut of Besson's earlier kick-ass heroine movies Nikita and The Fifth Element, this is quite a different breed. When Scarlet Johannson's lead character Lucy is railroaded into carrying out an errand for a disreputable friend, her day swings violently quickly from bad to worse, until she finds herself dosed up with a mysterious wonder drug and her IQ starts increasing exponentially...with startling results. It's impossible to say anything else about the plot without spoilers, so I'll focus on the other aspects of the movie instead. Johansson absolutely makes the film. Besson knows how to nurture great female performers, and boy has he given her a great role. Her character goes from one of the most convincing portrayals of terror I've ever seen, and proceeds to evolve into brilliant, breath-taking athletic lethality as she starts to learn how to turn the tables on the bad guys and truly kick butt. The action is regular, brilliant and extremely inventive. Because this film is a sci-fi in some aspects, it gives the inventive Besson even freer rein than normal to come up with bonkers, bizarre moments, and the really weird stuff started to hit the screen far earlier into the movie than I'd expected, giving it a delicious sense of the unexpected, and of never truly knowing quite where it was going next. The brain-science is nonsense, but the movie is like being fired out of a circus cannon. Brilliant, violent, kinetic, inventive and barmy. Bonkers.

What a Film !!!
This is a terrific film. Well cast, Johansson superb, an exciting and thought provoking plot, plenty of action - everything that makes a great movie. Some critics have dammed the film, on the grounds that the storyline was "far fetched". This is a unhelpful and vague viewpoint. All science fiction films could be described as "far fetched" - but over the years, just look at how many "far fetched" sci-fi films have later proven to be prophetic and surprisingly far sighted. This film starts fast and the pace is remorseless. The script is well written, given that the subject matter is a little complex. The storyline is deceptive. From a simple, kidnapped and forced drugs mule, the story explodes from an initial revenge scenario, into a much more thought provoking scenario. The action is intermixed with debates and issues surrounding the origins and capabilities of the human cell and its potential if ever it was all fully realised. The viewer is constantly wrestling with watching the fast action, whilst at the same time, trying to grasp the underlying theme of the consequences of developing human cells far beyond their present restricted, underdeveloped constitution. The film has a gripping climax and the ending is not at all as one would expect. This really is one of the very best sci-fi films of the last few years. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Forget critics and low ratings. This really is a film to be seen and judged for yourself. Excellent.
