The perfect backup compass.
While I certainly won't be using this compass as my main navigator, it is a brilliant emergency backup, or something to use for frequent bearing checks. Rather than being a cheap, poor quality novelty, this little CMP-20 Compass Necklace is actually a well-made, quality little instrument. The dial is surprisingly easy to read, given it's tiny dimensions. The fluid-damped dial spins freely, and is very accurate. The luminous paint works very well and you could definitely read this compass at night. It's not going to replace my Silva 4 Militaire. But it is a worthy addition to any backpack, or just to wear on a day in the countryside as a 'just-in-case'. Recommended.

Nice bit of kit
While this maybe small it is a cracking compass, nice and sturdy, lightweight and very accurate. I don't need anything more complicated as I only needed it for my campervan to make sure I park with the nearside of the vehicle facing south. That way we will get the afternoon and early evening sun flooding into the area outside of our awning setup. The glow in the dark face is a nice touch which may be useful if we turn up to a site after dark, quick charge under the headlights and bingo.

Polymath CMP-20 pendant compass - handy, decent illumination in dark, uk made, would recommend
Looking at various button size compasses as backups, turned out a good choice. Pros. Good size, handy adjustable pendant cored, once ‘charged’ by torch or other bright light, stays luminous for hour plus, whole face lights up (apposed to the N, S, E & W text) & UK made. Cons. Bit harsh maybe, but if you do happen to snap pendant cored, it’s moulded into the body, you can’t replace it, thus 4 stars. Would buy again & recommend.

One of the best compasses I've ever used!
It's quite remarkable how something as small as this compass, built to military standards, can be so accurate and rugged and only cost £7.99 It has to be said that if its neck cord is broken, then the compass may have to be either replaced, or its cord tied. It is fluid-damped as all high quality compasses are manufactured and utterly reliable. Weight around the neck is negligible. It would make a great present to a teenager or a young boy who enjoys camping. I love quality and this reliable little compass has it in spades. Made in the UK.

Handy little thing
I didn't expect much other than I can use it for work, not easily lose it and it'll help me orientate myself when surveying trees within dense woodland. It seems well-built for its price and works well considering its size. It'll do the job nicely and should last a decent amount of time. It would never be something I'd rely on to get me from A to B or home/safe. But it'll work well for what I need it for.

Great lil compass 🥳 🥳 🥳
It's a neat little compass 🧭 Arrived promptly, in good condition and well packaged. A very happy customer 😊 Bought a survival box which on opening was a Chinese special. One of the items was a compass which would move only when it felt like it and always in the wrong direction. As soon as I used this one, it provided rapid direction changes 🥳
