This was perfect as a prop in our Aladdin production!

Base came away from lamp almost immediately so had to re-stick. Was being used as prop in play - just had time to repair it! Poor quality but did the job.

It’s smaller and significantly different to what’s depicted in the listing. It’s only 20cm long max, made of hard brittle plastic and has screw holes on one side with no flippable lid. On the underside there’s an unused compartment for 2xAAA batteries but there’s no electronics in this thing so I think it’s a repackaged C-grade item that’s been rejected by another manufacturer. The plastic itself has a lot more detail in the texture and has a black paint applied to create a tarnished brass appearance - definitely not the smooth soft plastic shown in the listing photo. The manufacturer isn’t listed as “Bristol” on the packaging, but rather “Forum”. But then, it’s a £4.99 plastic novelty toy, so how much can you care about it?

I loved this lamp and it was a great accompaniment to the book. Some of the children I work with did not know the story of Aladdin or about his lamp so this was a geat way to explain the story. It was an added prop. The children all took turns to try and rub the lamp and said out their wishes. This encouraged lots of language. This product arrived on time and in good condition. The price was good value too. I would like to know about any other items that could go along with stories for children. I would recommend this product and the seller to anyone.
