It can be a challenge, though, to find curriculum that isn't straight-forward workbooks. Plain workbooks are generally boring, and my son protests. This book includes ideas that require a higher level of thinking than a typical workbook. It includes some "typical" workbook pages for each unit, but it goes beyond that with the activities. It more actively engages my son. We don't use this by itself but as a supplement; however, I think it could be used by itself, though. For example, we are studying cells. This workbook has a great section on cells, so we are supplementing with the activities. Today we used iodine, onion, and a microscope to see the cells in the onion skin. My kid loved it! My only suggestion would be to include a list of needed supplies at the beginning of the book. I would've preferred to gather them all before the school year started versus running around every few weeks makign sure I have what is required. Review: Fun experiments for all different topics - This works so well to supplement science curriculum for homeschool. Our kids love all the experiments and learning about the scientific method!

Great book
We've been using the experiments in this book for homeschooling as end of chapter stem projects. My daughter really enjoys them.
