Very good, reliable cameras
I purchased a seasonal home and was unable to get the Arlo cameras left with the property working. Given it's a seasonal property draining batteries is a big concern of mine as the property sits empty for months at at time at certain times of the year. The cameras come with very good mounting instructions to take advantage of the solar panels, and using the app to position/aim the lens ensures you get it positioned properly the first time. It will also test the WIFI connection while you are at the location to ensure the signal is strong enough. I had no issues with any of the cameras in my house as far as signals go. I also am finding the solar panel charging seems to work extremely well as they've been up for two weeks and the batteries are fully charged. The base station works well and has lots of storage. I haven't purchased any additional and I'm not sure I need it. The app is good and has handy features like being able to set the notification settings for Home, Away, schedule, etc. There are proximity features as well to arm/disarm but I haven't played with them. My only comment (and it's a small one) is I find the camera in my courtyard catches motion but the subject is almost out of range before the video starts recording. I think that's probably more about the positioning of the camera than the device itself so I may play with it. Now thinking about installing a front door digital lock/camera and smart locks for my other doors. Overall I'm very pleased with the technology and the ease of installation/use. Would highly recommend based on the two weeks I've had it.

Color me impressed
After six months of using this surveillance system, I can confidently share my experience, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations. My initial motivation for an upgrade stemmed from the outdated, cumbersome head end of my old hardwired camera system under the front porch. The struggle was real, especially with the lack of support for newer Windows OS. My expectations for the porch camera were initially low due to its lack of direct sunlight. To my surprise, the built-in solar panel proved to be a game-changer, keeping the camera consistently charged with ambient sunlight. Despite the limited sunlight, it only triggers 1 to 2 alerts a week, showcasing impressive efficiency. Contrastingly, the garage camera, basking in direct sunlight, handles 10 to 20 alerts daily. Even as fall reduces daylight, it maintains a solid 70% charge. Considering my home's 12-inch thick insulated concrete walls, the impeccable signal strength from the home unit inside the kitchen pantry is noteworthy. The garage camera, facing 2 interior walls, 1 exterior wall, and the garage door, experiences no signal issues. The AI recognition feature is commendable, excelling at detecting individuals from various angles, not just head-on views. Night vision performs well, falling between good and spectacular, with room for improvement in IR light coverage. While the camera's IR lights are effective within a close range, additional IR repeaters can enhance night vision for broader coverage. The daytime picture quality is truly spectacular, and the well-crafted app enhances the overall user experience. Setup is a breeze, and the app's speed, even on mobile networks, is praiseworthy. Motion detection sensitivity can be adjusted, a handy feature for my garage camera dealing with wind-induced false alerts. The ability to draw a detection zone is a great feature, although adjusting points on the phone's outer edges can be cumbersome. A PC interaction option would be beneficial for certain tasks, as some actions are more convenient with a mouse. A notable feature request would be a scheduler to define "do not disturb" periods, especially during high-traffic times when unnecessary alerts are a hindrance. Lastly, the camera mounts require a firm tightening to prevent movement over time. Despite this, I highly recommend this system and plan on purchasing more units.

Do NOT purchase this - it's so bad I can almost call it a scam legally.
Easily the worst home security investment I made. While the product is easy to setup and the video/audio quality is great the software to detect motion and trigger saving events is absolutely horrendous. Once motion is detected it could take over 10 seconds until the thing starts capturing and VERY OFTEN it just chooses to not capture anything at all, even for huge movements. I tried everything, tried tweaking the motion sensitive toggles, recording durations, use or disable the AI features, it just didn't work. at all. Worse thing is it is marketed as a security camera that when put in a place that has good sun exposure it can recharge. This is a lie. I live in a VERY sunny country with clear skies like 90% of the time. The battery barely lasted a week between charges and took over 8 hours to full charge. Getting in touch with a human was impossible too, had to keep chasing random forum posts with thousands of people experiencing the same issues as me. Literally the only reason to get this product is it LOOKS like a security camera so it can act as a deterance. Do not get this.

Awesome.. reliable and fast.. highly recommend
GOOD STUFF!!! So far I have had an awesome experience with this new system. Eufy customer service is the best I have ever experienced. They answer quickly and provide real support and stand behind their product. I can't stress enough how the support and responsiveness has exceeded my expectations. Some things to note.. if you have a larger home 4000+ sf and have stucco/brick exterior you will likely need a second homebase unit. Do not expect one homebase3 to cover 6 exterior cameras around the perimeter of your home. I had multiple communication issues and camera offline issues until I split cameras between 2 homebase3 issues one toward the back and one toward the front of the home. After adding second homebase3 no issues. Cameras pull up quickly on the phone app. Motion detection and recording is flawless. The app is excellent and allows you to fully customize when and what gets detected on which cameras etc. You can also easily filter out areas of the camera field of view to avoid nuisance detection...excellent implementation. The ability to store all recordings locally on honebase is a huge plus..love it!! Love the solar panels. Love the AI that can learn and recognize family members and distinguish from strangers.. so cool. This company is really working on cutting edge features that I really appreciate and will leverage. NOT AS GOOD The mounting brackets don't seem as robust as I would like.. they work but the eufy3 cams are pretty heavy and you really have to tighten things pretty hard to keep the cameras secure and prevent it from shifting under the weight of the camera. Not a huge deal but would like something with a little more strength and adjustability. I ordered a solar panel for one of the cameras that is mounted in an area where it can't get sun. I wanted to be able to run a power line from the camera to a solar panel outside the patio to pick up sun and charge the camera. I ordered the panel from amazon but it came without a water resistant gasket for my model of camera.. the gasket keeps moisture out of the area where the usb c power cable from the solar panel connects to the camera. I called Eufy and they sent me a new panel which I was told would include the gasket.. there was also no gasket in the replacement panel from Eufy.. so long story short I still have no good way to use the exterior solar panel and I am hoping that Eufy will soon make these gaskets available for the eufy3 camera.

8X Zoom is a little deceiving
I replaced my Arlo Pro (HD, 1080p) outdoor cameras with these Eufy S330 (4K) cameras. The Eufy cameras were compatible with my old Arlo wall mounts, so that made the mounting much easier. The Eufy cameras have a crisper image and can zoom in between 2x and 8x (see note at the end of this review). The facial recognition is a plus in that when I get a text notification, instead of saying a person has been detected it tells me the name of the person detected and I don't feel the need to quickly review the recording to see who it is. The AI assistant continues to learn as each recording is made. You're asked to confirm if the person is in fact the one Eufy thinks it is. You don't need to answer, but it helps the AI improve itself. The setup is pretty simple and it's best to charge the cameras before setting everything up. There is a USB to USB C cable included for charging the cameras. I had an additional USB to USB C cable to charge my MacBook Pro, so was able to charge two cameras at a time. The cameras come with about 70% charge already on them. Even so, it took about 2.5 hours to fully charge each one. Once the cameras were charged the setup was fairly simple. At a point in the setup the home base emits a tone that is heard by the camera and completes the camera connection to the home base. Be aware that the home base tone is made with the speaker located under the home base and the camera's microphone is located on the front of the camera, so during this part of the setup it helps to tilt the base back and place the camera mic near it, so it can clearly hear the tone. Once the camera is recognized by the home base you'll need to name the camera (Porch, Gate, Garage...) and you can set other camera features in the settings. The Eufy home base 3 comes with 16GB of storage that can be expanded to 16TB by installing a 2.5" internal hard drive into the home base. I went with the Seagate Barracuda (model #ST2000LMZ15) 2TB drive (more on that in the notes at the end of this review). The installation was simple and, using the Eufy Security app, the home base reformatted the drive and showed 2028 GB available. During the home base setup an ethernet connection is necessary from the home base to your router. Once the setup is complete, following the app instructions, you can have the home base connect to your WiFi, then remove the ethernet cable, unplug the home base and move it to a location more central to your cameras where you can plug it back in. I have had two instances where one of the cameras lost its connection to the home base. The first one seemed to reconnect on its own. The second one, mounted on my barn (12' high) had to be taken down and re-setup, but seems to be working fine once again. The furthest distance I have placed a camera from the home base is probably around 60' with one or two walls between them and the camera still shows full bars in the connection. One of the features I liked about my Arlo cameras, that my Eufys don't have, is that when they recorded an event they would start the recording a few seconds before the event occurred. The Eufys start immediately when or a few milliseconds after the motion is detected. When a car pulls into my driveway, by the time the camera starts recording, the license plate is out of view. NOTES: 1) The 8x zoom feature only works when viewing through the cameras live. Viewing recorded video will only allow 1.5x-2x zoom. If you have a recorded event where a crime was committed on your property this is when you MOST need to be able to identify a person and/or license plate. This needs to be addressed by Eufy Development Department. I found a workaround that seems to solve this issue. If you download the recorded event to your phone or laptop photos app you can use the zoom in that app to further magnify the image to 8x. 2) After installing my 2TB hard drive I came across information that the original 16GB storage is enough to store the recordings of 4 cameras, based on 500 seconds (8 minutes and 33 seconds) of recording per day, for 2-3 weeks. Based on the information, my 2TB drive will hold roughly 15 years of recordings before it is full. A bit of an overkill I think. So, if you need more than 2-3 weeks of recordings maybe look at a 100GB-200GB drive.

Camera REQUIRES mounting in FULL sun
How I arrived at my overall rating: ***** (4.75 rounding up to 5 stars) Value ***** (5 stars) Purchase price: $469.99 Pretty good deal for 3 cameras and base. NOTE: You do need to provide a hard-drive if you want to store video for any prolonged period of time. Quality/Durability **** (4 stars) Duration of use: 18 months After mounting for about 6 months, noticed one of the cameras stopped charging effectively with full sun. Contacted Eufy who replaced the broken camera with a new one and has been working no problem now for almost 1year. Ease of Use/Assembly/Install: ***** (5 stars) Pretty easy to sync camera with base. I do have a mesh setup so wifi signal isn't a problem, but without it, it would have been a little tricky esp for outdoor mounting positions on opposite end of house as router. Usefulness/Appearance/Fun Factor: ***** (5 stars) Has been extremely useful. App could use a bit more options in the settings, but works fine and notifies me based on what I set it to. Overall happy to have gotten and grow with this system. NOTE: Camera NEEDS to be mounted with full exposure to sun. Mounting it under eves so it's partially sticking out will not lead to optimal charging. That being said, this has only been 1+ years of usage, sure being exposed to the elements entirely will take it's toll on the cameras itself. For the time being, they are working great and have been durable.

Needs additional solar panels to charge efficiently.
This is my second eufy cam set up I’ve purchased. Prior to purchasing the S330 models I’ve owned the 2c cams for 4 years and counting. The S330 cams offer excellent video quality compared to the 2c cams which is what I was after on top of adding more cameras to our system. As always with eufy cameras the set up was a breeze and I’m able to use both my home bases. The only downside with the S330’s are the solar panels on the camera aren’t enough to keep the cameras charged even when exposed to direct sunlight on very sunny days. Unfortunately I will need to add external solar panels to ensure they receive the charge they need. Overall good cameras and would recommend purchasing with additional solar panels.
