Simple and Effective
It's a great timer. The ring is loud enough that you can't miss it and it is accurate. Just remember to always turn the knob past 30 minutes then back to the time you want if you are measuring time less than 30 minutes. This is in the instructions.

Timeless and Reliable: Lux Minute Minder Timer Mechanical White
Mechanical kitchen timers have largely disappeared in favor of digital models and phone apps, but this simple wind-up design endures for good reasons. No batteries to replace, no complicated settings—just twist the dial and it counts down reliably. The construction feels solid for what amounts to basic clockwork. The bell rings clearly when time expires, and the mechanism winds smoothly without the stiffness that plagues cheaper models. White plastic housing shows kitchen grime easily but cleans without issue. Most useful for cooks who prefer dedicated tools over phone timers or need multiple timers running simultaneously. The 60-minute maximum covers most cooking tasks, though longer braises require different solutions. At thirteen dollars, it represents reasonable value for a simple, functional timer. Nothing innovative, just competent execution of a proven design.

Its a classic for a reason
These Lux times are classic for a very good reason, they work and the quality is very good. The design is the classic 1940s with the rocket on the timer face. The numbers and screening are good. Twisting the dial is smooth, easy to set. If there is anything I would improve is that bell is a bit weak. But for old fashion reliability, its easy, quick and reliable.

Timer is way off.
Bought the Lux Minute Minder to replace my old Robertshaw Lux Minute Minder which served me well for 30+ years until it stopped working last week. This new Minute Minder looks identical to my old Timer but is way to inaccurate to be used to time anything. I tested the timer by comparing it to the timer on my cellphone. When set for 15 minutes the Lux Minute Minder went off 1 minute 20 seconds early. When set for 10 minutes it went off 1 minute 8 seconds early. When set to 5 minutes it went off 1 minute early. And when set to just 3 minutes it went of 50 seconds early. Then after the timer rings the dial keeps turning until it's nearly a full minute past the zero marker. I guess it's true that they just don't make things like they used to. The Lux Minute Minder is not made in the USA. It's made in China as shown on the sticker on the bottom. My old Robertshaw Lux Minute Minder wasn't made in the USA either. It was made in Mexico. I really wish this new timer worked as well as the old timer it replaced. But it doesn't. Therefore I cannot recommend this timer.

Works fine. Doesn't stop at the 0 minute mark, tho
This timer does work fine. Gets the job done. However, it doesn't stop at the 0 minute mark. I've had this for a few months. And, it still doesn't stop at 0. Will keep it, tho.

Prefer a mechanical minute minder for convenience.
These Lux, if not all, minute minders are mass produced, simple mechanical wind-up spring. My rating is a 3 because the bell sound is short and very weak. You might not even hear it when it triggers off. The ticking down minutes are inaudible to me (even taking into account my hearng may be fading). It seems all these minute minders have to be moved pass the 30-minute location on the dial to function properly. A nuisance and can be annoyance. Was looking for something you simply turn the dial to the number of minutes you want to countdown. The only thing good about them is that they are visually easy to see and move the dial conveniently versus a high tech "advanced" minute minders. I still prefer the mechanical minute minder over high tech minute minder.

Best little Mechanical Timer ever.
This timer is the best because you DO NOT have to have batteries or set it up with electronics..... I am old school being older lol I have this timer by my work desk at home, to remind me to get up from my desk, to take my dog out to walk, etc tec. I also took it with me on vacation this summer. It helps when you are busy and have short term memory blow out I cannot seem to get all of my Echo Dots and Smart Bulbs set up. I need an Alexa fairy to drop into my place to get everything set up before it goes defunct on me

No more over cooked meals.
With our busy lives it is easy to forget items we have in the oven. Not with this little and functional timer. Place item in the oven, set the timer and go about your work. When the time is up this timer will let you know. No more over cooked meals.

I bought one of these because my Mom had one for decades and it was excellent. Well-made, heavy, durable, and consistently accurate. This one's a cheap, light, not well-made version. Threw it out after 4 months because it wasn't keeping accurate time AT ALL. Don't waste your money.

It works pretty well as advertised but I have had one for years and this was a replacement. This one tums the opposite way so holding it as always I turn it wrong - from high number down to low instead of he other way. I knew this when I bought it as I could see from the Amazon page but I had no idea it would involve such an adjustment to old habits.
