These work in case you break one of you iSpring reverse osmosis couplers that go between the filter containers. If you are like many people with the older ispring kits and replace the cracked white filter canisters, be very careful when tightening the couple to the new canister at the risk of breaking them. If you did break them, you are probably here since there don't seem toi be many 1/4 inch to 1/4 inch male NPT plastic couples around. One word of caution. Two wraps of Teflon tape and the included Orings led to a leak with the ispring canister. You have to set them with tube silicone and water overnight for it to set before using the system.

Do not overtighten.

But I highly suspect the inner diameter is slightly smaller than the oem one. My flow has reduced to less than half compared to before. Will need to order another part from somewhere else to test it.
