Ig. coil, cap & router good & fit perfectly on my 97 Chevy. 1500 5.7 L . Coil bolted right into the existing bracket. Plug wires & plugs were wrong fit for this truck - sending them back.

Wanted to get a matching red HVS cap for my red Volvo-Penta 5.7 Gi engine. This cap is not SAE J-1171 rated, but I used it anyway. The reason why is due to NONE of the "crab cap" Vortec based caps, even the "marine" ones, have SAE J-1171 stamped on them, even from the factory, but all of them seal 100% so I'm not concerned with ignition protection on this unit. This one, as I wrote, seals perfectly. I was concerned that the screws might not be correct, but comparing them with the OEM cap and rotor, all matched perfectly. Being red, like the engine, I appreciate the artistic side and oddball color. The terminals and lugs are all brass, which is very important in a marine environment. If I run into any problems, I'll update the review. Now to find some matching red wires...
