amazing
i love my cats; they're like my family. but it's been a bit of a nightmare for 3 years with them. they scratch my door when i'm sleeping and cause horrible damage to the door. i took them both to the vet to make sure they were okay because they'd sometimes cry all night, too. everything was fine, they just want to play and are nocturnal. they also have issues with closed doors. i've literally woken up crying because i just want to sleep. its like having a baby that never gets into a regular sleeping pattern ever. it's gone on for 3 years; i'm not able to sleep more than 3 hours a night. Or they wake me up 2 hours before the alarm goes off so i can't really go back to sleep long enough to be worth it. playing with them before bed, giving them love and attention just doesn't work. they're lovely cats and very affectionate but i just want to sleep! i just kept saying 'they have to tire themselves out soon' but it would never end. i ignored it- it wouldn't stop. i reacted to it- it wouldn't stop. i've tried tape on the door (which just ended up being a new toy for them to scratch and play with), smelly spray (which would scare them away for a few minutes but they'd always come back), ... nothing worked. THIS WORKS! I've finally gotten sleep through the night for the first time in 3 years. It's a hard compression spray (which doesn't hurt them, but it's jarring). They completely stay away. They haven't even cried in the days I've had the spray. just sit it near the door and forget about it. it does it all for you. I wish i'd bought this years ago! I actually turned it off today and just set it near my bedroom door and they won't come near it. best purchase ever. thank you!

Returning it is impossible!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!!
We had one of these years ago and it worked flawlessly. Ordered this newer style one recently to help one of our cats from peeing in an area it shouldn't pee in. This thing just won't work. I've replaced the batteries twice, thinking it may be the batteries but that's not the case. No matter what setting I try, it doesn't work as it claims. It'll go off when no one is around it, yet our cat can walk right up to it, sniff it, and it won't even detect the motion and alert the cat. This thing is garbage as listed in other reviews. Amazon directs you to the manufacturer to return it or contact the company's support department, but that is a joke. This item isn't even listed on the company's website to get support for and you can't advance with your support request until you select the item you're needing support with. What a waste of money. I wish we wouldn't have gotten rid of our old one from years ago. It worked incredibly well.. this newer model is just junk. Another dissatisfied customer that's out $50+ bucks because I can't return it. Such a scam.. I'm surprised Amazon deflects these complaints and return requests onto the manufacturer with no help from them at all. All I did was waste time going down a rabbit hole on the manufacturer's website that does not help at all because this item is not even listed. So now I'm not only out the money, but I'm really pissed off. Don't waste your money on this folks!

Does the job, sensor is a little too sensitive.
Effective but super sensitive. I can’t decide between 4 or 5 stars, but in the end, this thing works really well for keeping my cat away from my plants. We had issues with him digging in the dirt, chewing on the leaves, and once killed a plant from peeing in the dirt… Something had to be done, so I thought I would try this, and it works amazingly. HOWEVER, the motion sensor is super sensitive. They show pictures of this on a counter, but just walking by the thing will set it off. I wish it was a little less sensitive. I solved this problem by pointing the sensor towards my plants so that the cat will need to walk between the sprayer and the plant to set it off. This works great, and checking around online, the spray does not harm the plants, and the couple of times it has gone off, I’d agree the plants seem just fine. Just make sure to turn it off with the button if you plan to do anything around your plants, like pruning or watering. Unfortunately, the can only has so many sprays until you need to buy a new one, so keep that in mind when working on them. I also found that the motor that pushes down the sprayer is pretty loud; the sound alone scares my cat, so if this can runs out, I may just leave it and see if the sound alone will deter him. So far, he has only found out the hard way once and has seemed to learn his lesson quickly, so the only reason I see needing to replace the can is when my daughter keeps setting it off when she goes by the plant.

Works as intended, but not all the time depending on where it’s at.
I like this product and have used it for the last few months to which it has accomplished exactly what I got it for: to keep my cats out of the kitchen or off of my dresser/desk. If it’s set up in a location where you don’t have to move it every now and then (my cats don’t get on the counter anymore but they get in the cabinets close to the floor so the device sits on the floor) then it might be an issue. I have to move it so I don’t get sprayed walking in and out of the kitchen but I believe this throws the sensor off and I’ve found it to completely stop working at times because of it. This doesn’t say the device is faulty or doesn’t work as intended because I don’t think it’s meant to be moved around all the time but this has been the only issue I’ve seen. The longevity of the batteries are still holding up so they’ve passed a long time. There’s no smell, and it’s not too big of an item either. So overall I would recommend the product but only in a place that it won’t be moved. The item hasn’t leaked at all and it’s pretty fast if it’s working correctly. Again, I move this thing around a lot because of it sitting on the kitchen floor and it throws the sensor off to where it doesn’t work right unless reset with power on/off but other than that the device works as intended and I would recommend it for normal use.

It is so sensitive that it keeps spraying with no motion around it. Do not waste money

It works to repel cats but it is only appropriate for guarding a specific approach where you need to stop the cat but you won’t be crossing the same space yourself. Given how expensive the refills (and the units) are you don’t want the spray activating all the time.

It doesn’t work in my cat… only on me. I put it by the place i don’t want her to be but it doesn’t sensor her movement so it doesnt spry when she goes then when i go to check it spry me instead 💩 also its stoped working after a while even after i changed the battery, for the price its the worst thing i ever bought
