The gaters are great. They can be mounted to any shoose. Even sticking a Velcro to shoose, assumed by the creators, is not necessary. The gaters hold position quite firmly

Meh… first time using gators and they did “fine.” The front came unattached several times over the course of a hilly 30 miles. It did still keep the dirt and rocks out but was annoying

Walking through fields of grasses, weeds, and brush without gaiters will allow dirt, sticky seeds and foxtails getting into your socks and shoes causing discomfort and requires frequent stops to remove them. Foxtails are extremely hard to remove from socks and the padding in shoes. These gaiters are designed for Altra hiking shoes and easily attach to the Velcro patch at the back of the shoe and front latch hooks to the lace. This system is much better than other gaiters that have loops that under the bottom of the shoe. These gaiters well in protecting socks and shoes from foreign object. Not water proof or recommended for going over pant legs.
