Excellent Bluetooth Adapter
Amazon, it's story time. Once upon a time there was a young man named Jimmy Pops. He had a nice little setup with his 4th generation iPod Touch and his Altec Lansing imt800 Boomboox. One day, Jimmy Pops dropped his iPod touch right on the pavement of his local Planet Fitness Parking lot. Upon purchasing a new iPod Touch, he discovered that Apple changed the stupid connectors from the 30 Pin to the Lightning Adapter. Alright so being serious now, I was in no mood to cough up another couple hundred bucks for another sound system. Everything always has to change doesn't it? A new connector type, a new cable needed, it's never easy; at least not until I discovered this thing. This Layen i-Dock allows you to immediately turn any "obsolete" sound dock system into a wireless Bluetooth speaker compatible with any device that has Bluetooth. This forty buck gem will save you from having to buy another sound dock more or less ever so long as the dock itself continues to function and you continue to like the sound it has. The device itself is pretty much what you see in the picture. It's a matte black device that has a 30 Pin connector on the bottom. It has a small button on the top to initialize the Bluetooth search to connect to a device and a little blue light to let you know it's either searching (very fast blink) or active (slower blink). The blue light, while nice to know it's operational, is a bit of a con for me. I have my sound system in my room so when I go to bed, if I leave the Layen connected to my Altec Lansing there's a pretty bright blue light that doesn't stop blinking as the light will blink so long as it's plugged in. It's a simple fix though. Unplug it. I really can't justify taking off a star for laziness. Sound quality over the Layen is fantastic. Does my iPod sound better than it would if it were plugged in directly? Probably not, but the difference is so indiscernible to be honest I'm not sure I could tell the difference. What I will say in regards to sound quality is that over Bluetooth there's a lot of volume loss; you either need to crank the iPod or the sound dock it's wirelessly hooked up to. Once you find the right combination that floats your boat however, it sounds great. Plus I'm willing to make some sacrifices for the wireless capabilities. It's so nice to be able to walk around my room and play music from wherever I'm at. I am sure this will be nice for when I'm...you know what never mind. This adapter is a fantastic buy. Honestly, this is the best forty bucks I've spent in a long time. I'm thrilled with the Layen. It works well, it looks pretty inconspicuous, and it gives me plenty of freedom. If you are looking to make your sound system wireless or need to compensate for a 30 Pin to Lightning discrepancy, the Layen will fit the bill great!

Works great!
I purchased it for my Bose speaker system which has the 30-pin dock. The setup was extremely simple and the device paired up with my mobile phone without any problems. I had tried another brand prior to this one and it would not pair up with my phone, so I was relieved when this device actually worked.

Works for old Bose 30 pin soundbox
I bought the Bose Soundbox when it first launched, paid $400.00 for it. I’ve taken good care of it, & changed the adapters when the phones changed to be able to keep using it. With a new IPhone 16 pro max, the adapter I purchased didn’t work, so I researched Bluetooth devices hoping would work. Found this one, plugged it in, synced it with my phone quickly, & bingo! Be sure the volume is tuned up on your phone. The range is pretty good, around 30 feet, & the sound is better than before. Worth the $ for sure

Great solution to upgrade functioning Bose SoundDock
No problems connecting to bluetooth receiver after docking it to SoundDock. A few recommended tweaks: an on/off button on the receiver would allow me to turn it off without taking it out of the dock. Had to adjust the equalizer and lossless on the phone to get the best sound, though I don't think it's the quality the SoundDock can handle. While the device is advertised to work 10+ meters, the connection between my phone and dock dropped at about 10 meters which is not that long to me. Great solution and elegant as I don't have to carry multiple power cords and extra space to spread out speaker and bluetooth adapter.

Works Exactly as I Had Hoped
I normally play my Ipod Classic on my 2011 Sony LX20i compact system but this was perfectly compatible with that system. I had no problem pairing with my Samsung Galaxy A32. I would be tickled pink if this setup would last at least another 5 years because I certainly enjoy having the added option to listen to my phone's music on this stereo speaker system rather than headphones or a separate system. Should I buy another one? I mean, which will go first - the Ipod, the stereo, or anyone's 30-pin support altogether? Hmmm...

SIMPLICITY
I have an old Bose system like other units seen. Outdated for anything but a iPod 2 nano, it’s so old cannot update it. Was told to start over and buy a new system. I FOUND THIS DEVICE. ORDERED (FAST SHIPPING), I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER. LITERALLY 3 SECONDS TO PAIR! Sounds great, nice styling, quality seems right on. FANTASTIC

Worth the extra cost!
Don't waste your time and money with any other Bluetooth 30pin SoundDock connector. This one works very well and is easily recognized by an iPhone. Purchased for use at the workplace 24/7 and coworkers have no problems connecting with it. I previously bought one of the cheaper competing Bluetooth connectors and it failed within a year. So wholeheartedly recommend this one.

Does not provide same sound quality over Bluetooth as original iPod does
Does not provide same sound quality over Bluetooth as original iPod does. My unit is playing through an Apple iPod HiFi, which has good sound quality with an iPod. The enclosed pamphlet states the receiver sends an analog signal to the dock, and the output level is low, whereas the output level from the iPod is much higher, clearer and better fidelity. So the iPod interface to the HiFi is undoubtedly digital, and the signal is processed to have high quality. When playing music from my iPhone via Bluetooth to this receiver, the result is muddy and flat. No selection of equalizer helps. I’d like a Bluetooth receiver that provides the same digital output to the HiFi as an iPod does. Wanted to be able to play YouTube sound, or other sources through the HiFi from my iPhone. So this is disappointing. Giving it 2 stars because setup/pairing was effortless.

I love this product! It's truly a premium solution, with both form and function. It's a UK company, and is worth the extra money (over the generic chinese bluetooth iPod dock adapters.) It worked on my Sony CMT-BX20i, which the generic, "Smof" branded one didn't output any sound. The fit and finish is awesome. It feels like a quality product in the hands, has a nice matte black finish. It makes my stereo actually look better! The labelling (how it says Layen I-Sync) on it is tasteful and makes it clear to anyone what it is. It connected to my phone without a fuss (just have to know to hold the side button to get it to appear while pairing, read the manual) and has nice indicator beeps that aren't intrusive to let you know the status of the device. The sound quality is crystal clear as far as I can tell, and I have no complaints ! Thanks so much for making this product and caring about making a good product, that actually works and looks good.
