Transforming Prayer: How Everything Changes When You Seek God's Face Review: Shifting the focus and features of prayer - So many books tout the solutions to what plagues the Church today and why so many people are leaving organized religion. The author lays out in this well-written book, a mature plan to refocus primarily selfish prayers of modern Christians into a meaningful and worshipful experience that will produce an exciting, praise oriented, glorious orientation of creature to Creator. I sense that many folks who call themselves Christian, do not actually know who Jesus is, how to approach His throne of grace, provision, and mercy, and just how to honor Him as Lord of Lords and King of Kings. Once a right, respectful, and proper relationship has been established, we can then cry out to "Abba" Father and know he will answer and provide. This book is not presumptuous, condescending, or judgmental. It is a heartfelt, loving, considerate plea to brothers and sisters to praise, worship, magnify, and exalt His name and seek His face while asking for our needs of which He is already aware. Very helpful, instructive, realistic, and convicting. Review: Prayer that changes your world - The book revealed an age old way we need to pray! From reducing the focus on us to renewing our prayer to worshipping God. As an another author said, Looking to the face of God and not His hand. A good book to bring about change in our attitude and gratitude toward true biblical prayer-worship! Worth the read and study

Shifting the focus and features of prayer
So many books tout the solutions to what plagues the Church today and why so many people are leaving organized religion. Transforming Prayer
A well written book that gave me a new perspective on how to pray. One remark that stands out was that prayer is a way to receive and renew our relationship with God. It is a way to know him. Too often, the book points out we only go to God whan we have a list of needs for ourself and others. The author encourages his readers to find a regular time and pray for a better knowledge of God, therefore, a better relationship. It's not that we are discouraged from praying for each other but our primary reason should be to draw us into a better relationship with God. Overall, each chapter has helped me. I am also grateful to Amazon for offering such a wide variety of books to us and although I have favorite authors, trying out these new ones has been a good experience.

A Must Read
Daniel Henderson is a dear friend and mentor, yet that is hardly the motivation of this review for what I believe is a "must read" for any pastor, leader or follower of Christ wishing to connect at a deeper level with their Creator. If Daniel was a complete stranger, my commendation of "Transforming Prayer" would not waver one bit in passion or veracity. This book is full of powerful anecdotes, Scripture-based assertions and thoughts centered on the often neglected and misused discipline of prayer and how it must be applied to worship and life. The principles of what united, worship based prayer is and most certainly is not, could be worth the price of the book alone. I've heard Daniel share with me personally and speak on many of the thoughts he penned in "Transforming Prayer" yet I still found myself marking up every page. My life, ministry and church have been transformed by the power of prayer and this resource is an incredible reminder and impetus to keep pursuing God simply because He is worthy to be sought. Read it and you won't be found wanting.

Eye Opening
I am a new pastor of a small traditional church. For the last few years I have stumbled through prayer meetings where I watched people literally fall asleep. We would do our list and we all prayed for the same thing. Now understand me please, these people all have the best intentions and are loving people. But I couldn't help to feel we were missing something. I had another Pastor tell me about Daniel. At first I was a skeptic and then I had the opportunity to attend a prayer conference in which Daniel taught. I was blown away and I couldn't wait to read "Transforming Prayer" to learn more. I wasn't disappointed. Daniel uses real life testimonies of people who have been deeply impacted by this simple biblical approach to prayer. I have always appreciated simplicity. Having spent twenty-two years in the Air Force, one thing I leaned is "the simpler the better" when leading people. Using the Lord's Prayer as the frame work to create a simple 4/4 time diagram that teaches Reverence-Response-Request-Readiness, easy to remember and easy to teach. Using scripture to start the "reverence" the Spirit and the Word invoke the response and the way you go. God's word, The Holy Spirit guides the prayer time naturally. I have never been this excited about prayer and I have never seen others get this excited about prayer once they experience it. I am still learning and now I feel equipped with the tools to lead my church in prayer. I'm sure I will go back to this book more than once. If you're looking to see yourself and others get excited about prayer, buy this book. You will not be disappointed.

When asked about prayer, most Christians would know that we should do it, and more often than we do. Why don't we? Perhaps like the disciples, we need to ask the Lord 'teach us to pray?' This book goes a long way in answering that request.
