The stamp worked well, but required inking at the beginning due to the fact that the ink was quite pale. Once inked, there was no issue.

My friend/roommate and I always joke about "cancelling" each other for random silly things, which turned into "I'm getting the cancelled stamp". So I was looking for a real cancelled stamp to give her as a gag gift. Found this one and bought it, and honestly it works pretty well! Neither of us had a real need for a stamp that says cancelled in red ink other than commitment to the bit, but it's found some usefulness around the apartment. The dishwasher in the apartment we live in isn't magnetic for a clean/dirty magnet, so instead we use a post it note that we stamped with the cancelled stamp, and that means "the dishes are clean". It's fun to say "the dishes got cancelled" as if they were some sort of awful celebrity and it makes doing the dishes a little more fun. Overall, the stamp is pretty good, even if I bought it for a gag gift and not for a useful reason. The ink doesn't smear when stamped on something like shiny cardboard either. This would be a good choice for real actual people who need a stamp that says cancelled.
