Subterra Carry On Roller 22"

So it took me a long time to decide on this luggage but I am so happy with it. First, the compression is amazing. I think it works better when you don't use packing cubes, which does mean that I needed to accept that I'd be packing my clothes loose rather than in those tidy cubes. But the compression was wow. I was packing for a six night trip to the north east of the US so I packed clothes, a winter coat and some layers for the top. It all fit. While I was there I purchased a pair of additional shoes and two t-shirts and it still fit (it was a bit tight I will say). The wheels are also brilliant, really roll. I know it's not a spinner but the two are so good they do give me some of the feel of a spinner (and it's lighter and has more room). Finally I love the color.

I have done full week international trips and 2 day regional trips out of this luggage - the configurable compartment makes this easy. Not big enough for a multi-week trip. Its high quality construction, and the looks make it distinguishable from the sea of stock rollerbags coming down the baggage claim chute.

My wife suggested I get this because I routinely destroy $100 carry-ons. I've used it on about a dozen flights so far, in the hold and carryon, and I like it a lot. It's holding up well - the fabric is tough and the rounded-off shape helps it survive in the hold. Some things to note: - The compression panel really works well, significantly increases what you can pack. This compensates for the fact that the large wheels and rounded shape means the internal volume is a little less than traditional rollerboard-style bags. - The arrangement of internal pockets is different from standard carry-ons, so you may have to re-think your packing approach just a little. In some ways it's better, since it's easy to separate clothes, shoes and toiletries from one another. - The rounded shape means you can't easily sit your laptop bag on top of it. Instead you use a little strap (with a very strong metal hook) to hang your laptop bag behind it (you often see aircrew do this with their bags). One unexpected benefit of this is that the bag balances perfectly when you're pulling it along. I can pull it at a fast walking pace with one finger, and there is much less stress on the extended handle (always the first thing to break on these bags). - The hard plastic wheels are a little noisy on surfaces like concrete, but they seem able to shake off significant punishment - I have dragged them over all kinds of surfaces.

This is a quality piece of luggage…sleek, sturdy and rolls great. It it is lightweight which makes it much easier to pull and lift when stowing in overhead carry on. It is very well designed and can hold a surprising amount of clothing due to a very handy removable cover inside that locks down to compress clothing. It has additional spacious compartments for shoes or other bulky items. A family member has had the same Thule luggage for 4 years now, used on many extensive trips and it’s still in excellent shape. Highly recommend!

When I first saw one of these beauties in an expensive outfitters shop in an equally expensive seaside town I knew right away that I had to have one.... Been patently waiting for price to drop and almost fell for ordering one from an on-line retailer from Germany, but luckily read some reviews and decided against a long wait for delivery and additional charges for import taxes. Finally found one within my price range on Amazon.

Very sturdy and awesome to travel with. You can pack a lot in this carry-on. It’s expensive but it will last a lifetime.
