Revised/Updated PCV - a must-do for all smoking-on-startup 5.3 Chevys!
My '07 Suburban was blowing serious blue smoke at startup. At 250k I was ready to throw in the towel and deal with an engine with tired rings or valve seals. I had read about replacing the driver's side valve cover with an updated version, and that it had eliminated clouds of blue smoke at startup and greatly reduced oil consumption. I was very skeptical. But for less than $75 and under 30 minutes to install, I figured it couldn't hurt to try. This worked for me. I couldn't believe it. No more clouds of smoke at startup. I'll be measuring my oil consumption over time, but I'm sure consumption has gone down considerably. Like the factory part, this is cast aluminum. It is made in China, but fit perfectly. It came with the gasket and after 300+ miles, no leaks.

Fit Well
Fit perfectly on my 2007 Chevy 1500 Silverado Classic with the 5.3. I've driven several thousand miles since the install and my oil loss has significantly reduced.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado 5.3 liter and it had been smoking at start up every morning and also fowling spark plugs especially the #1 plug. I was also having issues with O2 sensors on the driver side failing along with the catalytic converter failing on the driver side. My truck has 291,000 plus miles on it and I was thinking the rings were shot. Checked around on YouTube and came across this possible fix and for 73 dollars and some change. It was worth the shot to see if it would correct the issues I was seeing. After changing the valve cover I had no more smoke at start ups in the morning or after it had sat idle for a few hours. I went from adding 1 quart of oil every 700 to 800 miles to having not to add any oil at all. The issue is the PCV valve is fixed in the valve cover and can not be replaced on its own. The PCV valve sticks open pulling oil into the the intake manifold which was fouling my spark plugs and would burn off at start up causing the blue/gray smoke. I went from thinking I needed to buy a new truck to thinking I might get another 300,000 miles out of it. Runs great now with no issues. It was worth the purchase. Make sure you take your time installing the valve cover and not letting the gasket get out of place and causing a unwanted oil leak. Plenty of YouTube videos out there showing how to make this easy repair.

Worked on 06 Silverado 5.3
Designed for 08 and up. Said wouldn't fit my 06 5.3 Silverado. However, the valve cover fits just fine. Has updated PCV baffle for the smoke on start and consumption issues. The difference between this and 264-965 is the mounting hole locations for the coil pack tray. But the hole on the left lines up great so I drilled a 3/8" hole in the tray for one on the right. Two studs will hold the tray down on the cover perfectly fine. And it's a good bit cheaper than the other cover.

2010 suburban 1500
Replaced the leaking drivers side oem valve cover with this newer Dorman cover. This is an easy plug/play part that comes ready to install. Just make sure you clean/prep the work area before removing the old one it will make the new cover get a better seal on the head surface. With the convenience this part comes……I recommend
