I use my Canon EOS R8 quite a bit and my photo/video usage is split about 50/50 with a slight lean towards video. While I find the LP-E17 are adequate for photography, for video they are less than adequate. That’s where this dummy batter power adaptor comes in handy. I paired this with an Anker powercore battery/charger supply and I can now shoot 4K video for hours remotely! This has become an essential part of my camera kit and if I lost it, I’d buy another. Highly recommended!

This didn’t work for me at all. Your mileage may vary. The price was so small it wasn’t worth dealing with a return, so I don’t know about their customer support. The event I needed this for had passed, so it just wasn’t worth the trouble.

What can I say? It works. No more faffing with batteries every hour on set. Just be aware that a PD power bank can only be used for the camera at one time. Second you plug another device in camera shuts off. Pick up a tiny extra bank if you need a supplemental cooling fan or something

A brilliant device if you're using a tripod. Great to not worry about my battery dieing when I'm filming.

This is an excellent product that allowed my R8 to record the entire 2 hour limit while connected to a PD power bank. Only 4 stars due to slow shipping for a product from Amazon.

Ok so.. where to begin. It is simple to use, portable, affordable. Item as advertiSed. Cons: only works with some portable batteries. And the batteries themselves need to have an almost full charge in order to work. You must have a high wattage power brick in order for the dummy battery to work. OK, hopefully this helps some of you. At first the item worked flawlessly when used with my portable battery. After a few uses, I did notice that if my portable battery was not charged more than half then the dummy battery would not work nor would it power on the camera. I mainly wanted to use it to power my mirror camera and use as a WebCam and it worked, but I always resorted to the chargeable batteries that I had instead of the dummy battery. I would recommend if you have a lot of portable batteries that you carry around with you and they output more than 20 W which is rare. I would not recommend you unless you have those portable batteries. If you want something more versatile, I would go with a kid that comes with the power break the cable and the dummy battery that goes along with that kit this one.
