I am so happy with this sub. Its loud when it needs to be but the best part and my biggest surprise is hearing the what i can only describe as distant bass giving me the full immersive environment. I am hearing things i didn't even know are in the movies. I love it.

I have two home theater set-ups. One uses a 10" Polk Audio subwoofer - the DSWPro550WI, the other one uses this recently purchased Klipsch R-110SW. Both the Polk and Klipsch were about the same price. While I love movies, this is really about the MUSIC for me (former music teacher here)......I have many many CDs - all kinds of music, Rock, Country, Blues, Classical, Jazz. So BEFORE I placed the Klipsch by itself in Home Theater #2, I plugged it in next to the Polk Audio one and switched back and forth between the two, listening to the same music.with the two subwoofers separately to see differences in the sound between the two. I must say the while they both are great subwoofers - same size footprint - they are both in the class of being refined and not boomy..... if I was to pick one, i would go with this Klipsch. It is not just great deep bass, this Klipsch is also not flabby - very very very precise. Very clear. ESPECIALLY ON JAZZ - with the acoustic bass - the nuances of the instrument and how it really is being played is like you are right up near the stage at Chicago's "Green Mill" (Al Capones old hang-out still going strong!) listening to a jazz concert live. This Klipsch sub is incredible. And please note - unless you are trying to break your windows.....the 10" is super room shaking loud - no distortion - if you need it to be - It does not matter how big the living room is- I could not see going with the larger 12" or 15" model. For the record, I did try to go cheap at first and got a crappy Klipisch SW-450 sub prior to this R-110SW. It is also 10"....but was terrible (noted - it had the made in china tag on the bottom). It was a boom thump box - only. Garbage, sounded like the thumping you hear from a kid driving a mustang from a block away. After 3 minutes, I put it back in the box, taped it and went to the UPS Store to return it. Maybe the SW-450 is ok for explosions from a blu-ray movie or computer game - but NOT for music. So I paid the $60 to send it back along with a 20% restocking charge. Then I ordered this R-110SW. Well worth it. Also note that this R-110SW is NOT to be confused with the other R-10SW sub from Klipsch. They both have copper looking woofers....but the R-110SW is the REAL DEAL....and the one to get. It is only slightly more in cost. I auditioned both of these at a local audio brick n' mortar side by side and the R-110SW was much better, more refined than the R-10SW. You will not go wrong with this investment.

Sounds terrific in a medium room. Dimensions however do not include the amount the power cable and RCA cables stick out. It no longer fit where i needed it to.

Blows every sub woofer below this price point on Amazon out of the water including the Klipsch R-100SW 10" Subwoofer. I returned two of those because of boominess and got two of these for $75 more each. Got the first one today and I can tell you I have never heard this clear, distortion free, super tight bass before at home before (excluding the 18 inch super subs at the recording studio). I can confirm that the W6v3 from JL Audio (much more expensive) is less boomy than this one as well. I returned the other two because they were boomy compared to the two tight Bose acoustimass speakers I’m used to - and switching between Bose and those, there was too much boominess even though they blew Polks out of the water themselves. Klipsch R-100SW 10" Subwoofer Is super cute, super small. This one is way nicer, way heavier and let me emphasise again that your house may shake when the volume goes up, but the sub does not distort. In fact, I always get a headache from subs too loud and I realize that was because of the low quality. Never get that with the Bose and I think this one beats the cinemate for sure. I can’t say how it compares to the $999 Bose acoustimass I have (old ones). Sounds better than them at first look, but still have to make out which ones are tighter. You won’t regret the extra $75. In fact, I got the cheaper ones for $274. At $349 at present, the quality of sound from these subs are sooooo good. I can’t buy more expensive ones anyway. So, I am probably going to keep these if they work fine. So far, so good. Beautiful. I was so surprised hearing this today. Just wonderful. There is one slight gotcha - after I got the second sub, I panicked when no matter what I did the volume did not go down. The whole house was shaking, is there something wrong? Turns out the frequency and gain dials are “opposite” - how you turn it. I was at max volume!! Just remember that. The second one is in a smaller one where I though I may be able to hear more distortion - no such thing! Sounds great in the smaller room as well. I also want to not me that the seller IQ Home Entertainment is very good at support and is patient and will answer all your questions. Great post support purchase! I would go with them the next time as well! If you live in NH or MA checkout Craigslist where I am selling one of the two I got - because I need a sub I can keep in the middle of a room and syncs with my Sonos. So I am looking to sell one of the two I have.

I was replacing a sub that came as part of an Onkyo speaker package that I bought to compliment my first surround system twenty years ago. I had replaced all the other speakers, but the sub was doing its job, so I never bothered. That sub did its work for twenty years, but finally gave up. I primarily use the sub for home theater and my needs are simple, but I decided to go with a little extra. Wow! This sub is great! I don't crank it, because I don't want to wake my kids at night, but just...WOW! The bass is tight, low distortion, and used as an LFE sub, it really does a nice job. It took a while to get the balance just right, and I'm using hardly any of it's real power. I did manage to get this on sale, now I see the price has jumped back up. I probably wouldn't have bought it at the higher price, simply because I would have had to have a "discussion" with my wife. Glad I got it when I did! Only negative is the finish is easily scratched. Value/$ is marked at 4 only based on current price. On sale, I'd give it 5 stars!
