Vintage Botanical Illustration

Beautiful images and a great idea. But 20 dollars is a little steep for an Amazon book. Although, I suppose lots of colored ink is used. And the paper is better than normal. Love that the title of each image is included. And that they're numbered.

I like this book and am sure to use it, but I’m disappointed that the images all seem too yellowed. Of course I’m aware that paper & ephemera tend to yellow over time, but in the process of republishing/reprinting these images there should have been care taken to make sure the images still had crisp and contrasted colors that would have versatility in their use. It’s fine to have that vintage look, but these kind of come out a little too restricted in their color contrast. It certainly makes me think before buying another book by this creator.

Manchmal möchte ich malen, aber weiß nicht was. Die Suche nach einer Vorlage dauert dann oft so lange, dass ich gar keine Lust mehr aufs Malen habe. Dieses Buch sollte Inspiration und Vorlage liefen.Leider sind die Bilder auf der Titelseite der absolute Höhepunkt. Sobald man das Buch aufschlägt geht's steil bergab. Die Illustrationen sind zum Großteil einfach nicht scharf genug, um sie als Vorlage nutzen zu können. Oft kann man die einzelnen Blüten nicht wirklich erkennen. Viele der Bilder sind zu dunkel.Gefällt mir einfach nicht...
