Katie and the Bathers

As a homeschooling mom of 4 kids under 8 these Katie books are an INCREDIBLE resource for introducing them to great classic artists and artworks. They are fun, show great integrity to the original works all while bringing them alive for small children and making them excited about art. These books are the greatest example of a "Living Book" In a Charlotte Mason, unschooling, or Montessori education and the ids truly love and cherish them. I love that we are creating these memories for them of great art and literature. I did not expect to love this particular title as much as those focused on Monet and Van Gogh, but Katie and the Bathers was actually our favorite! It is the most fun adventure-wise in my opinion and a great start to your Katie collection!

My pre-school granddaughter loves the Katie books! For me it is an easy and engaging way to introduce her to the world of art. We started with a few that I found in a museum store. Now she has all of them.

James Mayhew's "Katie" books are whimsical and highly entertaining. Imagine being able to step into one of your favorite paintings! Mayhew introduces young children to famous masterpieces, while also managing to have a developed story line. My daughters enjoy the "Katie" books and are always thrilled when we had a new one to our collection. This is a great summertime read because your child can relate to trying to cool off on a hot summer's day.

Great series about art for preschoolers

I was disappointed to find that "Katie and the Bathers", and "Katie's Sunday Afternoon" are the same book! The books were expensive.
