Excited to play the Graphic Novel that started it all!
The husband and I just finished the Steins Gate series and loved it, so for his birthday I thought I'd surprise him with this game. Started up the game recently, everything is working great and just as described! The anime followed the game very closely but there are already some notable differences and I am interested in seeing how things turn out! I had heard a lot of good things about this Graphic Novel including that it gives greater insight into the story and the finer details of time travel. Shipped pretty quickly with plenty of time to wrap it, If I need another Graphic Novel game I will definitely check these guys out again! :D

The presentation was great, the game is even better!
This game is a rpg, anything you do in this game like pick up a phone call will affect how you progress in the game, every action has a consequence. The story is much more detailed then the anime, if your a steins;gate fan, you'll absolutely love this. The art style is great, it only adds to theme that is steins;gate. Overall, I'd recommend it to a friend(s).

El Psy Congroo
This is a great anime series so the source material has to be as equally enjoyable. The only problem is the series is as hard to find for a good price as it is to find John Titor's identity. You guys are the saviors of my world-line. Future Gadget Laboratories would be proud.

Sub version NOT English version
Its a dubbed version. When you say English version that means speaking english. FALSE advertising. Had I known dubbed I would Not have purchased. Feel scammed. Will not use due to this fact. DONT BUY THIS ITEM. Unless you were a fan of the dubbed anime. Without the english voice actors ive grown to love, this is Useless to me.

Not A Bad Game, But.....
This isn't a bad game but it just didn't "grab" me. First the things I liked. This game starts you off wondering about the person who is telling you the story. You wonder if he's as "out there" as he seems. It keeps you guessing right thru the prologue. I found the subtitles easy to follow and, I thought, well done. (More on this later.) It has an involved plot and that does create interest. All this said, I had a number of things that turned me off. First. This is Japanese language with English subtitles. I have no problem with this but I feel it would be better to reflex that in the ad. (Such as "English Subtitled Version") That way you would know exactly what you were getting. Second. The game confused me. I think this was the idea but as I played into the game, I expected the confusion to be cleared up a bit which I didn't feel happened or maybe I missed it. Third. Most everyone has a cell phone. I don't and this really confused me. Since I didn't know how to use the cell phone, when I got to one of the places in the game that required it to be used, I was lost. By trail and error, I figured it out. (This entailed one situation where I clicked on the web button and the game opened my web browser and took me to the game's web site with no warning! Somewhat of a shock when it also reduced the resolution of the full screen game (running at 1366x768) to a 1024x768 window under the web site! I had to Ctrl-Alt-Del to get out of this as I couldn't seem to find a way to get the game back to 1366x768 after closing the web page.) I finally found out that right-clicking had the effect of closing the items in the phone or the phone too. Even with this, I still haven't figured out the use of the phone in the game. I guess I will sooner or later, but the game doesn't seem to help with this. This seems to be an interesting game but I'll have to figure out how you play it. Maybe a demo on using the cell phone.........?

Excellent game, but has a little issue
This game is incredible, there is no denying it. I had a very fun time with it. However, I have to point out one little issue with Steins;Gate: the so called "choice" system with the phone. It is not so much a choice system as it is a random selection of text which gives out a random result. You put out your phone, click on a highlighted word, then you make a reply which you do not control at all (and that is not always clearly related to the word you chose), and you can't back out from it (unless you save/load all the time). So, it is not the standard "select an answer" type of Visual Novel. Now, it does not really matter in the game what choice you make in general, the effects will be minor. If anything, it gives the game a very special feeling that isn't bad. That is, unless you want the true ending, which requires you to activate six flags (or around that) which are not easy to get. Seriously, you will probably miss those flags if you play blindly, making you get the normal ending (I personnaly think it's inferior to the true ending, but I guess some people will still prefer it). Or worse, you could activate only some true ending flags, and get what I will call (for spoiler purposes) the "almost" true ending, which is rather... not a fun one, to put it lightly. I do not think, considering the choice system in this game, that it is possible to get the true ending on the first shot, or even the second, unless you try out every possible combination of "answers" (because some flags require you to reply something that normally you wouldn't think is the thing to reply). Here is my tip for you: check a walkthrough and follow the steps to get the true ending, it really boils down to around six messages you have to reply to. This is probably the best way for you to experience the game (without getting frustrated at each failure). That being said, the game is great, I loved it really much. If you are into the anime, buy it and play it. If you are into Visual Novels, buy it and play it. However, be sure to get a walkthrough to get the true ending, because you will not get the true ending by normal means (unless you are a very, very lucky person).
