All our books are brand new. We ship worldwide Review: This Timeless Masterpiece Just Got Bigger And Better! - While Eric Clapton kept on topping the rock and pop charts for the rest of the 1970’s and appeared at live venues on a regular basis, The Guitar God deeply impressed the music world in 1977 with this ambitious landmark album that not only became another great masterpiece, but what perhaps as his most sophisticated original album to date. Produced with world class excellence, finesse, ambience and richly diverse melodies, Slowhand highly showcases Clapton in his most original and sophisticated form as he offers a high fidelity mixture of enlightened music, which is peppered by dashes of the blues, mainstream rock, pop and country and western as they deliver it’s full house of bright intelligent notes from start to finish. Starting with the compulsive, bluesy shuffle of J.J. Cale’s Cocaine, the kaleidoscopic track set proceed with eclectic pace on other timeless hits like the romantic Wonderful Tonight, the Top Ten hit Lay Down Sally, his take on the blues classic Alberta, We’re All The Way, The Core, Peaches And Diesel, Mean Old Frisco and Greyhound Bus. Hailed as Clapton’s best album, what you also get from the Super Deluxe Edition of Slowhand are a couple live performances where Disc Two includes uplifting live versions of Hello Old Friend, Sign Language, Tell The Truth, Steady Rollin’ Man and Can’t Find My Way Back Home, while Disc Three have epic takes on Stormy Monday, Badge, his ebullient 15-minute reindition of I Shot The Sheriff and Layla, as the Super Deluxe Edition sustains itself throughout the course in a more towering format. Plus, you even get to hear a couple live tracks which feature a cameo appearance by Yvonne Elliman on the second disc (notably with her stirring performance on Can’t Find My Way Back Home), whom Clapton sincerely introduced For those who to hear this spectacular deluxe edition from start to finish, here is your direct chance to give yourself the privilege to hear this special extravagant edition. Review: Better Than Expected - This is a great edition, the Hammersmith Live tracks are worth it alone.

Excellent Clapton
For me, this is one of Clapton's best albums. Marcy Levy is excellent on it and the live disc makes it even better

Clapton heard as you never have before!
I used to have a tape copy of "Slowhand," and I always enjoyed it, but when I found out that it was available on a hybrid SACD, I jumped at the chance. Why anyone would even bother with the standard vanilla stereo only CD version of this great album is beyond me, when you can get the best of both worlds with this one, which gives 5.1 surround on your home SACD player, plus plays on an ordinary car CD player. Great sound, a definite improvement over my old cassette, and the songs really crackle, especially "The Core" and one for the ladies called "We're All The Way." Amazon had this SACD in my hands in less than a week, which I have come to expect from their high standard of service.

5 star content,zero star packaging
This is the 35th anniversary set w/the LP. When you slide the contents out of the jacket you think"Huh?Why won't it come all the way out?"Not a mistake. They designed it to stay attached to the box. Then you start thumbing through the pages and how nice! These super deluxe discs are just shoved into cardboard pockets with no protection against scratches!Another "page is an envelope open at the top with photos etc dumped in.Yet another similar "page"has a book. And the last one is actually the LP jacket.None of these parts can be separated. What stark raving mad idiots. So when you open it you have a 2 foot by one foot THING in your hands to juggle in order to remove or replace your chosen item.I did find that you can fold back the two cardboard flaps that keep the insert captive and then remove it.The contents are still one piece though. All the discs and the LP are immediately going into standard jewel boxes and jackets and this monstrous packaging abomination will sit on the shelf. The sound is great so far,I have more to listen to.Recommended.
