Creative Teaching Press Cut & Paste Sight Word Sentences

I am very avid when it comes to my children's education. My daughter is only 4 (4 and a half) and is pretty smart. She can read a lot of sight words so I thought that this book would help her learn sentences. This has helped her a lot! Of course, this workbook has an asterisk next to the word that the sentence starts with and you know which word goes last because of the period or question marks but by the time my daughter got half way through this book, she was forming the sentences without my help and understanding them. I love that there is a space to draw a picture above the sentence so a child can further understand the sentence they just put together. This has helped with my daughter's handwriting as well. I only aloud her to do 3 a day, so it was enough for her to understand but not too much where it lost her attention. She seemed to retain forming sentences really well and occasionally asked to do this workbook. She was actually pretty bummed that she went through them all so I think I will be buying another one in the future. I highly recommend this workbook!

My 5 year old daughter loves this work book. Some reviews said that they are double-sided so we need to print them out on our printer, but that is not a case! See my video. I tear it off end give it to my daughter! It’s very simple. My daughter is not good at writing but loves to drew. This is a great way to not only learn sight words, but also how to make sentences.

This is such a great book. I teach students with special needs. This book works on several skills at the same time. Following directions, cut, paste, writing, organizing words into a sentence and coloring. My students are at different levels but they just need to follow the icons on the top of each page that reminds them what they need to do first second etc.( a great plus for special needs students but all students would benefit from this, no more asking what do I need to do first questions:) I like how this concept makes students think since they need to respond to the sentence with a drawing, every page has some drawing included but the student needs to think about their response to the sentence and support it with a sentence, clever!. Since retention is important I made two books one half of the book in one and the other half for the other book. I also made extra copies so that students can review the sight word sentence. I would definitely recommend this book. I hope they make the next level, I would buy that too!

I was looking for something that would challenge all levels in the classroom. The sentences in this book are great for beginner readers, makes then think about how a sentence needs to be put together to make sense. Higher thinkers went through the work to fast. Many of the sentences use the word "it" in the sentences, I have told my students no "it"s so I have all students change "it" for something and draw. My lower students struggle with changing this word, and this does give a challenge for the higher students.

I've begun using this workbook with my K son and finding it to be a brilliant idea at learning sight words. In addition to the central idea of the sight words, it also provides a daily reinforcement of "following directions," which I consider a key learning step in K-land! There is a sequence of activities that the child is to follow (cut, organize, etc.), which needs to be done in the manner directed in order to come out correctly. Excellent!

I use this book in my first grade class. I have it already on their desk when they come in from recess so they can get right to work. It calms them down and helps them transition from being loud, energetic and social at recess to being calm and focused in class. These work sheets have just the right amount of physical activity to them (cutting and pasting) and also thinking needed. To up the mental challenge I have the students answer the question and not just copy the sentence they make.

I love this book! I taught Summer Reading Camp this year and started every day off with every student doing at least one page a day. The kids asked me why they had to do this and I told then it helped jump start their brains with creativity and thought! I used it for all my kids briding from K to 5th, plus a severe needs special education student. Its a keeper and would work extremely well as a bell project as I had done or a center project.

The book is good! The pages are thick compare to other books that's so thin. One thing I noticed when I scan the pages was that... (it's only one sided print which is great because kids needs to cut and paste it).. instead of having 1,2,3,4, the next page would be 1,3,5,7 because the blank at the back of the print is counted to the pages even there's no print in it... it would have been nice if the pages is 1,2,3, with print because you gonna get what u paid for... so you just have 1/2 of the real pages of the book... at the end part there's a answer guide... same as shown on the picture... overall the book is nice!
