Good strings
As always, these D'Addario strings are well-made, fine sounding and dependable. This set is properly gauged for the early Gibson mandola that I used them on.

Bright and clear
Not like there is much competition in the mandola string market. But I've got no complaints. Diadario makes good strings.

Fine product, convenient delivery, a tad pricey but WELL worth the little extra
Great Mandola Strings, and easy to order on Amazon as virtually unavailable in my small town or nearby. Price a bit higher than last time I bought in a big city music store, but not bad and SO much more convenient to order from home than to wait for my next hour trip to the city.

Octave Mandolin
Bought these to put on my Trinity College Octave Mandolin to give it a little more "oomph" on the low end. Sounds great and helps with the mandolin's natural thin sound to give it more balls. Will buy it again in the future.

Will work for octave mandolin
I bought these to replace the EJ80's that came on my Eastman MDO-305 octave mandolin. They fit with no problems, as the Eastman is a 21" scale. They have a fuller and less jangly sound than the EJ80's. Before trying them I read several recommendations from other people who had done the same thing, and I went to D'Addario's website and used their string tension calculator to make sure there would be no problem. I would highly recommend doing that before changing from another brand or size to these, just to make sure.

The one set of strings that I received was great, the 2nd set was wrong!
Strings are great, here is the problem. the seller shipped me one of what I ordered and one set of strings that fits an instrument that I have never even heard of! Here's where the nightmare gets worse. Took it to whole foods to return it, Oh they cant take it, take it to a UPS shipping store, show them the return authorization, they say you have to print it we can not scan it. Great, so email it to us and we can take it, but wait, its a $2 email fee. What?!?!?!?! I have now spent more money in gas and time than the strings cost me to begin with. AND I STILL HAVE TO MAKE ANOTHER TRIP!

Not found in my local store.
Perfect! Was unable to get at my local national chain music store. And they could have stocked 1 package. Sorry, they lost my business.
