Trusty, Tried and True

Book plot is arguably ripped straight from the beloved and classic story The Little Engine that Could, with rhyming words and glory to God references peppered in. Font is perhaps intended to be whimsical, but not easy on the reader’s eyes. Even *if* copyrights on The Little Engine The Could had expired, tell me, would Jesus rip off The Little Engine that Could, just to sell a book?? WWJD LOL. I loved The Little Engine that Could, and I also happen to love parody. This book is neither.

I absolutely love this book. It makes me cry every time I read it. I bought it for my nephew but I'd like a copy for myself to remember this lesson! It's a beautiful story of how God can use each one of us to bless others if we just keep our eyes open and keep listening to him!

This story is exactly the same as a very famous story of a little engine that could. It’s quite alarming how similar it is. Isn’t that plagiarism?

This book is so FUN to read. All the words flow and rhyme so nicely, making it fun to listen to. And by the end, you've learned a great lesson on how to help others and be kind to others. I want to be like Trusty! Here's a page from the book: Another train (this time it's Beauty the train) is coming along that says they can't help the broken down train for one reason or another... "Oh, Beauty, please help us get out of this pinch; Our train is now broken and can't move an inch." "I'm sorry, can't help you, today's a bad day; my washing and waxing's just minutes away. I'm powdered and pampered, you won't find a dent; you'd never believe how much money I've spent!" "With a pink puff of smoke, Beauty glistened away." Each page is full of fun rhymes that tell a valuable story!

Our family loves this book! Our 3yr. old can finish every sentence because we've read it to him so many times! It does a great job at showing excellent Godly character! We're ordering a copy of it for all our nieces for Christmas!
