I love these soap molds as they are much bigger than the typical molds you see across amazon. The lids are well mad and have a nice amount of headroom if you are the type of soap-maker who like to add decorative texture to the top of your batches. One thing I would note is that the silicone mold definitely cannot hold 4.5-5lbs of material. I found that a 3.5lb recipe pretty much maxes out the volume of the mold. You might be able to squeeze in an extra half pound if you are doing something decorative on top, but you definitely shouldnt expect to use a 4lb or higher recipe and have it all fit. Maybe it would hold that much if you didn't use the silicone mold at all, and just lined to wooden box, but that would sort of defeat the point. I don't give it a lesser rating for this size discrepancy because the mold as it is is great quality and I have repurchased them multiple times to expand the amount I can make at one time. I just think they should lower the described size to more like 3.5-4lbs, as that would be more accurate.

I have 2 of the 5lb molds and am ordering a few more. I can get about 88 oz of soap batter in each. These molds are pretty easy to unmold and make great sized bars (mine are cut at 1.25 in apart). My batch renders 4.4-5oz bars. The trick to getting in a full 5lb+ batch is to fill to the top, allow your batter to thicken a bit then pipe or build the rest into a middle peak. I have not piped, but build the peaks instead. Gives a visually larger bar of soap and you utilize the mold to its fullest capacity.

I have the tall/skinny mold by this company and I HAD to have this mold, too! The quality is off the charts, in EVERY area! The silicone mold, the wooden box, the TALL TOP. It is just FABULOUS and you cannot beat this price!!!!

I couldn’t recommend this mold enough, especially at the discounted price (I purchased full price at $70 a piece). Pictures provided for some soaps made from the mold. The silicone is flexible but firm enough to hold some of its shape, and slipping soap out is easy. Love the size, and the wooden box looks quite nice. Smells fresh as well!

I highly recommend this beautifully crafted log soap mould. I get perfect results with it every time. I've used it for 6 batches of soap so far. The mould makes nice sharp edges and corners, and when cut an inch thick, the bars are a nice size. Its worth the extra cost compared to the other, smaller, inferior moulds for sale. The silicone mould is very thick and heavy. Strong. I have no problem unmoulding the log. The wooden box is beautifully made, too. I highly recommend this soap mould.

This mold is so convenient for large batches of soap. The wooden box is great for insulation to keep the soap warm. The holes in the mold make it so much easier to remove the soap and carry it. I also really appreciate the kindness of the owner. The thank you card and free gifts were an amazing touch.
