Normally "regular" nail polish lasts, at best, to day three before major chipping ensues. With this base coat my manicure can easily last a week or more. This is my method (and note my method was the same before, only with a different basecoat, so clearly the Orly is why my manicure now has staying power): Get nails ready for polish (trim, file, etc.) then wipe each one with rubbing alcohol to clean and dry. Cap ends of nails with base coat. Coat each nail with base coat. Cap ends of nails with color, then apply two full coats of color. Cap ends of nails with top coat (I use Revlon Extra Life, but that's what I used before), then apply one coat of top coat. Blow dry each hand on highest setting with lowest heat for five minutes. With this blow drying and at least an hour before bed I don't get sheet prints. When "capping" nails don't worry about the little ridge that might form as it will smooth back out when you apply the full coat of polish. When blow drying I form my hand into a sort of claw shape and move the dryer in quick circles to get all nails. Once again I don't know if the capping or the blow drying has any effect on longevity, as I was doing that before using the Orly bonder. After 4-5 days I will notice the ends of my nail polish starting to wear off (more noticeable with dark colors), so I just re-cap and get another few days. Occasionally I have gotten a minor chip, which usually will stay touched up for at least a couple days, even without using the basecoat under the touch-up color. The attached picture is day 8, after minor end touch-ups on day 6. If you zoom way in you can see the all edges are starting to wear away at this point, but from a distance my 8-day manicure still looks great. My only complaint is this base coat doesn't seem to keep my nails from staining. They definitely seem yellower since I started using it. However, since I always have on nail polish this isn't a big deal for me.

I wear a lot of nail polish strips/stickers. With the less expensive ones, I was having issues getting them to stick and not peel off. I bought this to use as a base coat before putting the strips/stickers on. It works SO well and has extended the use - instead of lasting a few days, they now stay on at least a couple weeks (don't peel off)! Love this stuff.

I am hard on my nail polish, really hard! I am terrible about wearing gloves and I garden, clean the barn and just about anything that is required to keep a small ranch going. The only thing that has held up is gel, however, gel seems to destroy my nails. It didn't matter if my nails looked good most of the time, until covid killed my business, so now I have a position where I need to look professional when I am in. Chipped up polish screams I don't even care enough to take the polish off. If I wanted nice looking painted nails, it was either gel or painting my nails every morning.....like anyone has time to paint their nails every morning....I bought some Orly polish on a whim at TJ Maxx.....I loved the color, but I was leaving little bright orange flakes around my house within 12 hours of painting my nails. To the interwebs I went to find a possible solution and Orly's rubberized base coat came up. I painted my nails on Monday, it is now Thursday afternoon and after moving rocks....and when I say rocks, I mean the 1785 boulder and its siblings that I brought home to be placed in our entryway. Yes we used the tractor, but I am handling chains and hand moving the smaller rocks. Running the chainsaw for 6 hours, planting a ton of plants and a lots of housekeeping, my nails have no chips.....holy heck! This has not been seen without gel polish! I am super happy with the Orly products and will definitely continue to use it during my breaks from gel!

I have very thin and ridged nails, nothing stays on them. I tried this and my nail polish has stayed on 5 days now! Give it a try.

Really nice product. Worked as it should. I’ve never tried a base coat before and I liked the idea of it being a bit flexible by bing rubberized.
