The Medium - PlayStation 5

This is a great game. I miss good story based horror games. Reminds me a lot of silent hill which is one of my favorite horror games. I love the multidimensional puzzles. I wish I had a weapon to fight some of the ghosts/demons back, but not at all a deal breaker for me. It's more of a story, puzzles, mystery solving, and stealth horror game. Not a shoot 'em up action game. I hope they make a sequel.

I got this game because I loved this developer's previous game, Blair Witch. The Medium is a great game, deep storyline, good graphics, and fun gameplay. If I had to categorize this game I would call it a horror-puzzle game. There's not really any fighting. The "action" sequences of the game are either running from a monster or sneaking by it to pass through undetected, the main character is not a fighter. But basically the game is about using your abilities as a medium to unravel a mystery and going into the spirit world to help you solve the puzzle. It's a very atmospheric and creepy environment, dark and foreboding, Silent Hill vibes all the way (Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka did some of the music for The Medium). Creepy is the best way to describe it. I didn't really find it "scary" although it did give me a pretty good jump scare at one point but that was only once in the whole game. Gameplay is probably around 8 to 9 hours and I thoroughly enjoyed this game.

The closest thing to silent hill when it comes to horror! I mean Akira Yamaoka, the music composer of silent hill is actually part of this game! The Medium is easily one of the top 10 horror games of all time. Its kinda crazy how not many ppl dont know about this gem! If you really want to pick your brain and experience old school psychological horror at its finest, The Medium delivers all that. The game has a deep deep plot and narrative that will definitely make you cry. Just open up your eyes and ears and you’re in for one of the most underrated gems.

Was depressed when this came out for Xbox and wanted to play it so bad. So of course I got excited when this "silent hill" type of psychological horror was coming to my favorite platform(playstation 😎👌) and with haptic feedback, adaptive printers and speaker control immersion as well as 3d audio. The game looks amazing and is everything I hoped it would be. Some people said to wait on it but this was a day one buy for me. There is really nothing like it out right now on ps5 and it is that horror experience I have been waiting for.

Great horror game..must play!!

The gameplay is all about looking for clues to solve puzzles within a beautifully designed creepy atmospheric world ( which has me thinking of Pans Labyrinth ) with a great main character.Playing this you can clearly see that this is the team that went on to make the outstanding Silent Hill 2 Remake, which I absolutely love.The thing about this game is once you complete it, there isn't a reason to play again unless you want to see the story. There's no real gameplay as such which means there's no challenge which means it's a one and done.So while I really enjoyed my time with this game, at the same time I'll never return to it. Especially when there's so many games out there to play and a lot of them are easily replayable.
