Review: The book assumes the student has had prior exposure to the vocabulary. Usually when textbooks introduce vocabulary, it is always introduced in the context where it’s used, usually with a small dialog, which also helps with memorization. There is no such exposure in the book and I found myself looking at the dictionary to understand words I had no seen yet, which is not what I expected from a book that was supposed to introduce me to that vocabulary in the first place. Review: Good quality, helpful content, quick delivery.

This is great for adult learners too. You learn a lot of words, and how to read Hindi. I have this book in another non-Roman alphabet, and had no qualms in buying this book. I would buy all the books in the series.

This book concerns words relating to things as numbers, time, pronouns, greetings, and animals. It reviews the Hindi alphabet. It gives words (in script) with transliterations, but it's not clear how to match the Hindi with English without a dictionary. This is a good series of books, but in comparison with other Hindi texts, I find them sometimes disagreeing on a letter. I use Rupert Snell's book on Hindi script (an excellent book!), yet he and this author seem to disagree whether a letter is "ca" or "cha". I like this series. It has some fun exercises (which are helpful in learning Hindi), but I'd use a book as Snell's with it.

The activities are fairly simple and every one has a theme. The charts at the end of the.book are excellent!! Nearly worth the price of the book!
