Very good product to substitute the old faded white plastic ceiling roses
These antique brass pendants are very good in quality and style. The lamp/shade holder is of the larger continental size so if you have uk smaller shades it means you will not be able to fit them. Most lampshades now are 40mm but have smaller UK adapters fitted that you will need to remove for the lamp holder. The fittings are very comprehensive coming with all the bits you need and are easy to install with plenty of flex included that you can shorten easily. I bought two of these as we have two pendant lights in the room which has two wall lights switches so one fitting has three lighting flexes in the one rose so instead of undoing all the connections I simply put the new bracket behind the rose against the ceiling and the new brass covers were deep enough to cover the old rose connections. Well pleased they look good.

Play it safer - go to B&Q (other DIY stores are available...)
I'm sorely tempted to return this on the basis that the quality of the electrical fittings probably doesn't meet the requirements for selling into the British market. Cheaply made, not safe in my opinion. Can be made safe(er) but requires extra effort that the general DIYer (no offence intended) might not be aware of or able to do. My comments: 1) There's no earth connection to the light holder - this poses a danger as there's no easy way of telling what the quality of the electrical connections are within the light holder. It may be 'double insulated' and therefore not require an earth but do I trust the inner wiring? Based on the general quality of this item (see below) - no. 2) The supplied Earth wire appears to be << 0.5mm^2 making it not suitable for screw fittings. It's barely suitable for a WAGO 24A push-fit (0.6mm min), but only if twisted and doubled-over and even that's pushing it. Interestingly, the wire strands were so thin (hair-like!) that they'd not even twist together to form a tougher cable. 3) The supplied flex is very thin - not as thin as the Earth wire but still too thin to make a reliable connection with a screw fitting. I use thicker wire for low-voltage electronics, this is crazy thin for a 240V 6A lighting circuit. Doubled-up, it's just about ok in a WAGO 24A push-fit connector. The minimum conductor size for a flex to a lamp holder is 0.75mm^2 (I think). I'm not convinced the flex in this product meets that requirement. The earth wire certainly doesn't! 4) The metal forming the ceiling rose and fixing bracket is very thin. The bracket is also sharp-edged and poses a risk to the thin flex, potentially leading to earth faults - assuming that the Earth connection works... 5) The Earth connection is poor. A thin brass/copper washer crimped to a very thin cable (see above) is tightened between a nut and the inside surface of the ceiling rose to form the earth connection. But the ceiling rose is varnished so the surface is not conductive - therefore an Earth connection won't be present unless you sand the varnish away first... 6) Not supplied with any connection block to connect to the lighting supply cable in the ceiling. Screw terminals should be avoided (wire too thin!) - use WAGO 24A series lighting connectors or similar. 7) No cable relief... (actually quite common in fittings like this but...) The thin flex on this fitting will be typically connected to 1.0 or 1.5mm solid core cable. This cable doesn't bend easily so there's a risk that the final assembly could leave tension between the crazy thin flex and the not-easily yielding lighting cable within the ceiling - leading to connections that could fail over time - not good! General impression - cheaply made, poorly designed, dangerous maybe, if not fitted with due care and attention. Do yourself a favor and go and get one from B&Q (or similar) where the quality is better. If in doubt, get a qualified electrician to fit it. Looking at all that, I think i've made up my mind - Amazon, sorry but i'll be returning this item. MC

Easy to fit.
I bought this fitting to go with my new lampshade and it works perfectly! Was easy to install, looks fab more expensive than it is.

Product arrived marked with small dents.
Sadly both products were marked and slightly dented. I had shortened the cabling before realising so have kept and fitted these, but slightly disappointed with the quality. Given the price I would say these are good value for money, just not top quality.

Really stylish and modern colour / shade
Got this for the bedroom to hand either side of bed. Looks stunning. Will work great with nice big retro lights. Only concern is the wires are too thin but otherwise happy with product
