Casanova The Complete Edition Volume 3: Avaritia

The final chapeters to Matt Fraction's Casanova does not dissapoint. I first got into this series has a fan of Daytripper (of whom the authors did the art work, with Ba returning from Vol. 1 on this one). This final arc does a great job at wrapping everything up while maintaining the surreal world we are used to. Aftering moving to Marvel owned artists label the colors have never been more viberent.

Off kilter classic from a couple of most talented folks working on comics today. Do read the first two volumes of Casanova first as this story plays on what has come before. Think James Bond crossed with Jerry Cornelius and you're on the right track for how the Casanova universe fucntions... and the art is exquisite!

At this point in the series I have no idea what Fraction is shooting for. It's like he tried to match the weirdness of The Umbrella Academy and James Bond but it just doesn't work for him, which is disappointing as he is a really good writer. The art is the one saving grace of this series as Umbrella Academy artist Gabriel Ba returns to the series.

This series, by Matt Fraction and the Bà and Moon Twins, is, for me, the best there is! A superspy mash-up, in the tradition of post-modern and «awesome», that will blow your mind. Beautiful art, some of the best comic book writing I've seen in a while. It's fresh, bold, stylish. It's the only book on my shelf that I read and reread often (like once a month). I don't understand why it's not more known, because this book deserved it. This, the third volume in a series of seven, close the first «trilogy». Not enough recommended !!!!! (For mature readers only... ;) )
