The Joker: Endgame [Snyder, Scott, Capullo, Greg, Tynion IV, James, Cloonan, Becky] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Joker: Endgame Review: Collects Batman 35 - 40 plus extras - This actually collects Batman 35-40 (not 35-39 like description said when I placed my pre-order) plus some other goodies. I feel like this is Batman - End Game (Extended Version) You get more to the story, most of which is pretty cool. I absolutely love the End Game story by Snyder collect in the Batman Vol 7. The only thing I wasn't too into was Arkham Manor Endgame... but I like that they collected it here. I guess I got lucky, I was only charged 11 bucks for this due to when I pre-ordered...and it was at my door step when I got home from work. I think this was a great buy. As usual, Capullo's art is amazing. Batman & Joker fans should definitly pick this up. If you are on the fence on getting this or Batman Vol 7 ..... I would say get this version. Unless you are anal about having gollected all Batman volumes and you do not want to miss Vol 7...then I say, why not both? I would have dropped the score to a 3 if they did not include issue 40. The conclusion needed to be here. Review: Son loved it - My autistic son is a huge comic book lover. He really enjoyed this book. He told his little sister she could read it but close her eyes on the scary and blood parts lol

I admit, it surprised me
The core of this story is to try to understand both Batman and Joker. The stories aren't there just too move a narrative, but to plumb the depths of the characters. It does a good job job, but leaves too many loose ends to be great story telling. I don't want all the ends tied up - that generally makes for poor story telling, too. But this story is all over the place, and never picks an identity. So it is a good story, and very enjoyable, but not a great story, as it could have been. Worth your time to read, though.

Good buy
Every once in a while I like to treat myself to a nice hardcover batman comic. I enjoyed reading out of this. The pages, cover and binding are all good quality and I expect it to last a long time especially since I baby my comics. This one does not match the other volumes. It seems to sort of be it's own special edition. I would totally recommend this unless you're anal about your comics being consistent. The story itself is great as well of course. Great read.

Great Story. Great Artwork. MUST READ!
Any comic/graphic novel starring The Joker is a must read for me! I do wish that the artists would have had a bit more continuity with his look throughout, but the story was amazing! Better than "Death Of The Family" imo! He's more menacing, maniacal, and cunning than ever in "Endgame" and that's exactly how I like my Joker to be! READ IT! You won't be disappointed!

~This is no Joke, errr, DC made a mistake and we are the beneficiaries!~
Even if you have all the issues of Endgame, it is money well spent to buy this in this collected effort. I have all the Batman comics and the individual issues of Batgirl and Detective Comics. But here, they are placed in their chronological order so as others have said, more background is given as a result. Under the dust jacket, you'll find the title embossed on the cover of the book, which is in all black. The binding is tight, and the pages are slick, beautiful and bright. DC states issues 35-39 are the only ones here, but issue 40 is here to feast on, as well. Unfortunately, no alternate covers are included here, but that's not a distraction, only an observation. Still, get it and enjoy the story, all over again, for the first time. No diggity. No doubt.

Worth spending the extra buck vs. buying volume 7
Snyder does it again after the fallow up on "batman: death of a family". Amazing, brutal, and questioning your best judgement on the joker, this novel gives us an insight to what is the joker in contrast to batman being an idea of true justice, but this time things become more personal between both batman and joker, means to an end... Permenantly. If you plan to buy the batman volume 7 I would strongly suggest you get this complete "joker: end game" instead. It includes the batman volume 7 and extras that adds more depth to the conflict and more depth to the madness that is joker.

Just as Scott Snyder has created a defining version of Batman he has crafted a powerful arguement for the definitive Joker. There is a fascinating and compelling drive here to paint the Joker as an age-old force of nature rather than an insane crook and if it was allowed to take hold I believe I would welcome the view. This is as much a bookend to Snyder’s work though as it is a ongoing plotline, this effectively ends the Joker – and the batman for the foreseeable future which is dramatic but a shame as it feels like we’re only just learning the truth about both characters. This collection, rather than the other specific Bat titles, collects the wider Joker theme through all the Endgame specials and highlights the broad canvas Dc have create around their hero. This is not the Joker of the 1960s – or any other decade since, but this is engaging, entertaining, horrific and disconcerting, powerfully written and wonderfully paced. If you are not going to collect all the Bat titles in their own volumes this gives a wonderfully complete overview of this event and has everything you would want or need to fully enjoy the Joker’s greatest/final hour. My highest recommendation.
