I used this shell to repair a 2004 Honda Accord’s key. It worked perfectly. Keep in mind that you’ll need to be careful in removing the transponder chip from the old key. First you’ll pop the little cap off the compartment in the key using a tiny flathead screwdriver. There are small cutouts on the sides of the little box the chip is housed in to to make it easy. Then I had to very carefully shave away the excess plastic material around the transponder in the old key, and eventually was able to remove it with needle-nose pliers. I then put a bit of double sided tape on the chip and popped it in to the new case with the old key button module. Worked like a charm. This key case is not as smooth as the original casing, but is of good quality and feels solid.. The case has slight grooves on it for grip.

I had purchased this kit twice before for a 2015 Honda Pilot and had satisfactory results. Parts from previous kits used to fit together without any alteration and would last a couple of years. However, this time the kit did not accommodate the OEM metal key into the plastic sleeve that goes between both halves of the fob. The interior of the sleeve design seems to have been altered preventing the metal key from sliding all the way in. The result is an ill-fitting assembly that required extensive alteration.

I was happy with this purchase. The original Honda key design is quite terrible. I did not realize how terrible until i replaced the case and realized immediately why the original case was falling apart. Only thing i would suggest to anyone buying this is to carefully apply super glue to the perimeter of the new case being careful not to get it onto anything other than the mating surfaces. Glue it together then secure with the supplied screw and i expect this repair to last quite awhile. If you don't glue it i doubt this would stay together very long. It may be fine with just the screw. The original Honda key was just secured with a screw i just felt like the glue would add additional strength that was lacking in the Honda design. So far after a few months the key is still tight and i am happy with the purchase. Since you reuse all the internals you certainly want to be careful with the glue if you decide to use glue.
