Backyard Tetherball Game - Full Size Outdoor Tetherball

This is a great buy - it screws into the ground about a foot, with a removable metal pole as a grip, and stands about 7 feet tall. It’s as sturdy as a temporary pole can be and super easy to install and to move. The ball is a little bit hard, but continued play should break it in a little. I’ve actually never used a brand new set other than this one, so that might be normal. I’m a 40yo average sized mom who installed it in the ground by myself in under ten mins, including inflating the ball. It’s slightly crooked but that’s user error that I didn’t feel like correcting.

I have an overly exuberant puppy who has boundless energy so I am always looking for something (shirt of buying another dog) to help him burn that energy. I cam across this screw-in tetherball kit and decided to give it a whirl. It arrived quickly and packaged very well. I panicked a bit as I didn't have a pump to pump up the ball but that worry was quickly negated when I saw the pump in the box- they really did think of everything! The poles are sturdy and I loved the turning rod- it made screwing the post into the ground super easy. The one thing that I did notice when I was putting the first pole into the ground is that there is a little bit of discoloration behind the paint so that does make me wonder if this will rust easily but that remains to be seen. My girls were quite excited to see this as they apparently had been wanting a tetherball game as well but they'll have to fight the puppy off to use it. He is OBSESSED. Ignore the fact that the pole is slightly crooked as the user-installer had some issues. If you're looking for a portable tetherball game I absolutely recommend this one- sturdy, easy to install, and all at a great price point.

I just got this and set it up. It's decent for the price. It does twist in the ground pretty well, and it is strong. Two grown adults hitting the ball at full force didn't hardly move it at all. The ball itself is decent, too. There are some design flaws, though. I noticed that the bar twists loose after awhile. Also, trying to twist the base perfectly level is a challenge, especially in soil and in a backyard that has seen better days. I recommend using all-weather, durable tape where the bars screw loose and eventually cementing the base into place when you have the time. You definitely should not leave kids unattended when playing on it because they are likely to grab the bar, kick it, or whatever. With enough weight and force I'm fairly certain the bar could bend. In fact, the instructions say never to hang off the bar. It's a great gadget for the price, like I said, but use it with care and it should last. If you want something more durable and worry-free, then save your money and install a permanent set up or buy one of the more expensive portable tether-ball sets. Oh, and purchase a back-up ball. If you're like me and get tired of untying the ball and taking it inside (i.e. lazy), then plan on your ball and string lasting only one summer.

Awesome backyard game! Super easy to assemble, even comes with a pump for the ball and just screws itself into the ground. Super sturdy and withstands wind. Definitely recommend!!!

We had a tether ball pole and ball (another brand), but after about 2 years, the pole became very wobbly and that ruined the game. We replaced it with this new one from GoSports and what a difference! The pole is much heavier steel and it threads together instead of snapping together with flimsy pins. This new pole screws further into the ground and the pole is exceptionally rigid - should last us for years.

It was great for the 6 months we were able to use it. The pole snapped in half and we used it as it was made to be used. Sad day for my kids.

Super sturdy pole - easy to assemble! Our 6 yo granddaughter had a blast! Played for an hour alone, just swinging away at the ball.

I assembled our tetherball set today and was impressed at how easily this was accomplished. Our box arrived with a split in one end, leaving a partial opening so I was afraid it would be missing a part or scratched up. However it was fine, just a bit dusty which is inevitable anyway! The area I chose is covered with a little gravel and a lot of weeds which we whacked to the ground. I screwed the base in, expecting to run into tree roots and more rocks but did not encounter any big obstacles. Halfway in I started thinking that the base probably needs to be very straight, as close to a 90 degree angle as possible. I completed the base and it looked fairly straight so screwed the remaining 2 sections in, taping the connections as directed. I chose not to place a level up to the assembled pole because it looked good enough and I didn't not want to redo my work! The ball pumped up easily with the included pump. Now awaiting our grandkids arrival to really test this out. I will update my review if something needs to be added.

This is a very good price! My border collie absolutely loves it and it gives him lots of entertainment to burn off much needed energy!

We got this for my son as a birthday gift. Just finished installing it in the lawn (super easy) and have to say I was pleased by the quality of the set. Went into the grass easily and feels really secure. Ball is great quality too.

Exactly as i expected. I was able to screw into the ground easily with the handle... it wobbles a little in the grass but otherwise I'm happy

Bought it for my 11yr old granddaughter, she loves it. Brings it wherever we go. It is sturdy and well made. Even the adults enjoy it 🤗
