The Big Fat Middle School Math Workbook: 600 Math Practice Exercises (Big Fat Notebooks)

This book has been incredibly helpful for our middle schoolers. My husband is more of the math whiz in our family and he said that out of all the math books he has come across, this one is the best! We also own the Big Fat Math Notebook as well. Both are great! It does a fantastic job of breaking down the information, showing lots of examples, and then providing lots of different problems for the kids to work on themselves. We've used this over the summer twice now for our middle schoolers and both kids have said it helped a lot. We had them each do one lesson a day and then my husband went over the questions they struggled with if needed. All the answers are in the back of the book, which is helpful for parents. It covered things they struggled to understand during the school year and gave them a better understanding. Would highly recommend if you have a kiddo who struggles with math!

I bought this product for my son because he was going into middle school and he wanted to do some extra math practice. I have been using normal math workbooks for years now and my kids dislike it. But this book is very good. My son likes it very much. He thinks the colorful illustrations and all the helpful notes are very good for his middle school. Would recommend.

In our house this is the "parent book" so I can read up on and figure out the math that the child is working on learning. It's laid out well for that and gives good concise examples. A lot of it for me is review so just a little paragraph is enough to get me to remember so I can help with homework.

The context and explanation is very clear and simple to follow along. The letters are bold enough to grab my daughter's attention. It's honestly better to get both the notebook and workbook.

My daughter has always struggled with learning math. We bought this book for her, hoping it would help her with the basics and let her move though at her own pace. The instructions are short, simple and thorough and the exercises are enough for her to practice what she just learned without getting overwhelmed. She has been able to go through the units and chapters on her own, with minimal help from us and get the answers correct. I highly recommend this book for anyone whose child is struggling with math, or is self teaching new concepts. I'm going to be ordering the rest of the books for her.
