Xbox Microsoft Halo Wars : Classics ( 360)

This is quite an older RTS available on the xbox 360 but it still has to be one of the best. If your a fan of C&C and other RTS games then you will love this. One of the things I like about halo Wars is its a lot more simplistic to master the controls and building of units which in the heat of battle saves a lot of fustration. Unlike C&C I found that to be a little fiddley in the midst of battle. Halo wars allows you to chose between i think 6 army types, 3 good guys and 3 from the bad guys, each having its own unique abillities and leader powers, so take time to understand what each does and how it affects in game play. There is a very strong single player campaign crossing both Spartans and Convenant so a good mix of being good and bad ;) and then there is Skirmish mode which you can play alone against AI, co-op or against other online (be warned there are some hardened ruthless players out there as I have found out) I tend to practice on Skirmish against AI, moving from easy up to the harder difficulty levels, more to get a feel for what units do, strategy types before venturing online. playing against friends can be fun, swearing alligence before turing on them when they least expect it ;0) - Then there are various online v's modes (with the classics version you get *free DLC *this depends if its a new or second hand copy so you may need to check, but failing that you can download via XBL for a small fee) All in all a very well polished game, great graphics, easy to master (there are 2 tutorial modes to start you off)

My grandson is thrilled with this game. He is eleven years old and I almost hate to admit what a game aficionado he is. He has the Halo toys and now the Halo game for XBox. He has lots of games but this one is one of his favorites!
