I purchased this unit so it could be installed in a Lenovo P510 Thinkstation. The unit installs into the 5.25" bay OK and the box itself is attractive and well made. The cables however are thick and clunky, and difficult to rout. The deal breaker is that the internal drives in the Lenovo face towards the side of the case. They need a 90 degree connector, otherwise the case cover will not close. The power connectors on the Kingwin stick out too far and prevent the case closing. I guess you could cut them off and then solder on angle connectors, however that seemed like a lot of extra hassle.

Just as described looks good when set up,I added this as I wanted a card reader but thought for the extra mony I could add the extra features. I do not think I will be using the fan controller to reduce the fan speeds as they were already running at the correct speed to keep my system at the correct speed. If you do not need the extras such as USB ports ect I would just buy a card reader. Also make sure your mother board has enough connection to plug this in, I had to do a few mods and add a few extras to plug all leads in as most mother boards today do not have a second USB connection or USB 2 connection

I only really bought this for the clock. It's all I wanted out of it. PROS: Reasonable price when I purchased it, and I don't know where there is a comparable product (for the clock feature.) I like the colours. I'm only controlling two fans, so this suits my needs, and it works. CONS: Unless there's some sort of firmware available, then I don't know how it will display the correct date after December 31, 2019. That's the caveat. Note also, that the clock is independent of the system. It has nothing to do with the operating system clock or the CMOS of the system. When your system is shut down or suspended, the time and date will be unavailable. The display is not the best. It can't be read from extreme viewing angles. At a 90-degree angle, the screen appears to be purple, but as the angle decreases, the backlight is black. It's not intuitive for configuration, but the user guide is sufficient. Keep one nearby. I installed this in May and it's not saving settings in mid-October. I'm not sure if this coincides with my recent implementation of putting the system to sleep instead of continuous use. It may just be that the included battery is past its lifespan. I highly recommend installing a brand new 3-volt (2032) battery before initial use.
