Petmate Booda Dome Litter Box, white

I looked for a long time to find a litter box that would fit in the corner of my small bedroom None of them had the dimensions that I needed. This round litter box fits perfectly. It is well-made I like the fact that the lid lifts off without having to undo any Latches. It contains orders well and I ordered extra filters which were available for this model. I bought it for my kitten, thinking she would grow into it, and she has no trouble stepping up into the Opening. It came in two parts so there was really no assembly and there was no weird plastic smell. I also thought that it was well priced, especially looking at other ones in stores. I would buy it again, but I don’t think I’m going to have to this one will last.

This litter box is spacious, easy to clean, and contains odors surprisingly well. My cat took to it right away, and the high sides help keep litter where it belongs. A solid choice for any cat owner!

It's certainly large enough for most cats, and the round design keeps it more compact than a regular large rectangle would. The size and shape can be a challenge when doing a full litter change (when you throw it all out and start fresh). For the first year or so there was no issue, but recently I noticed that if my cat urinates onto the "wall" of the dome, it can run down and outside the box onto the floor. The dome simply rests on the base with overlap to the outside, so it gets out. Most cats pee toward the back—they are not like dogs—so this is a structural issue, not a "my cat is weird" issue. I don't know if this is because over time the lid has deformed and the cat was just hitting the gap spot, or if his increased urine output (he developed kidney disease) makes it more likely. Either way, something to watch out for. Other than that, I really like this litter box. The design is more attractive than your standard rectangle.

I purchased this box in pearl directly from Amazon about a month ago along with the Booda litter scoop and mat after reading customer reviews on them. This has been a great box for our 3 month old kitten. She started out litter training in an open rectanglar litter box, so I was worried she would not take to the Booda Dome. There was no need to worry though as she took right to it and has never had an accident since we've been using it. The box is a little larger than I expected, but is such a different, more modern looking box design that I don't mind if it takes up a little more room in the bathroom than I expected. It really contains litter smell. I clean it 1-2 times daily and leave it in my main bathroom as it produces no smell, so I don't have to worry about it offending guests. It's true the top does not latch to the base, but I twist it about a quarter of the way around to make sure I have it sitting securely on the base. Haven't had any issues with urine leaking out the sides, not even sure how it could do that as the waste is about 1.5 inches below the rim of the lower portion of the box. Have had no problem with litter being kicked out the front opening either. Am really glad I chose this box and would recommend it to others, as it is stylish and really great at containing all odor and litter.

So, I have been through many litter boxes trying to find the right one and I think this is the one for kitty. The one I had before this was really great bc it had high sides but it was just way too big for our space. This one is the perfect size for our small apartment. This booda dome box is also a good size for my almost 13 pound girl. I read that cats prefer circular boxes so I figured we would give this a try. She was apprehensive at first because of the lid, but she quickly learned it was safe to use :) I think she enjoys the extra privacy and I certainly enjoy the carbon filter it comes with! I would say it holds a decent amount of litter, up to 4” comfortably… and the plastic is neither too thick nor too thin. We have not experienced any leaks so far but of course, any littler box should have a pad underneath it because accidents do happen. Any cat owner should understand this. So far, it’s been a great choice and I will update my review to report on the longevity of this box.

So I have 4 litter boxes, 2 are bigger than this one, and one smaller. My cats will only use this one to my dismay, so I’ll have to order another one soon. It’s sturdy, decently sized (wish it was a little bigger for my 18lb cat), can hold a nice amount of litter, and easy to take off the top to clean.

I am so very pleased with this litter box for my new rescue Kitty. I got the simpler design; it has very little odor issues except when Kitty first poo's in it. It's height is great, and it fits my smaller Kitty, but I think a larger one could use it. She can turn around and around, to cover her business well, and she can look out, and enter and exit with very little tracking. It hold plenty of litter, I use the new silicone litter and really like it. The top lifts off easily, and it has filters. One thing I did was put partial clear plastic bubble wrap in two pieces hanging down from the inside of entrance. Further helps with initial odor, and doesnt bother kitty.

Me llegó uno que parecía usado sin etiquetas y muy sucio de polvo. Lo lave a profundidad y aún así algunas manchas no salieron, el plástico quedo manchado y se ve de baja calidad. La tapa no se asegura, solo se pone encima, espero que no se caiga mucho. Anteriormente habia comprado otro arenero por este precio de mucho mejor calidad. No volvería a comprar este. Tampoco es metálico ni aperlado, es plástico barato blanco.

Anyone who has a cat and a litter tray will be familiar with the problems of 'digging', and the spray of cat litter which appears on the floor periodically throughout the day. This litter 'Dome' is quite simply the best thing I have bought all year! We left the lid of at first for the cat to get used to using it, then put the lid on while he was using it, then just left it on after about a couple of days. Brilliant! No more litter spillage and sweeping!!! Get one. It's awesome.

Très belle litière qui donne un petit look retro/futuriste, bien aimé de ma chatte et assez grande pour un chat domestique adulte. Le couvercle (la partie du dessus) est super facile à enlever et remettre pour le nettoyage.

Love this! It's the easiest to use and clean out of all I have purchased. The only thing is that the opening is a little high. Took my 9 week old kitten a bit of getting used to, but she managed. Looks good too, modern.

This litter tray is brilliant , I'm so pleased with it but,more importantly, my cats love it! The bottom tray is deep in height, so no chance of any leaks, the opening is a good size and the charcoal filter really makes a difference. The lid and the bottom tray do not clip together so you have to remember this when you want to pick it up but its easy to clean and the domed shape means it can sit in a corner. My only disappointment was when I opened the box to find that instead of Pearl White it's actually more of a Pearl Cream in colour so if you want a true white don't get this Dome. In the 15 years that I've had cats this is definately the best litter tray that I've ever had and the domed shape makes it a pleasure to look at as, let's face it, litter trays are not a thing of beauty!!
