Q: How well does this work for hand embroidery?

I have only used it for machine embroidery so I can't say definitively how it will work. I is thinner than regular embroidery thread.

Q: I bought this set what would I buy if i wanted different colors?

This gives you a variety to start with. After that I bought colors I want and will use more often.

Q: What is the diameter of the thread?

I do not know the answer to this question but it is exactly like all the other embroidery thread that is polyester blend.

Q: Can I use this for bead work?

I would say no. Not strong enough.

In two weeks after the purchase, used only two colors till now and pink thread breaks quiet often while white color not.
