Forensic Psychology For Dummies
I returned to university to add to my degrees so I could begin working in a new field. I got as many "For Dummies" books as I could find on subjects that I am taking. My minor this time is Forensic Psychology, so I bought the book. I like reading these books to get an idea of what I am studying and I use the book frequently to refresh my memory and to compare to my textbooks. I feel like I get a little bit of a head start on the subject. I also learn what will interest me about the subject and will be easy to learn — and what I might need to work a little harder on. These books really are "For Dummies" and they are easy to understand.

There were absolutely no damage to the book. Looks and feels like a brand new book. Very interesting book, its simple but very detailed and informative. Great for me who loves psychology and the law/criminal justice.

buy this book in paperback or hardcover
Electronic format does this book a disservice. The author is clear from the beginning that he has designed this book with the intent that the reader will want to flip forward or back to clarify or augment knowledge when specific areas of interest are identified. Perhaps it's my dinosaur- version of Kindle, but I found it frustrating to the point of impossibility to accomplish. Indexes don't work in e-format either, as page numbers change randomly. A friend who indexes professionally tells me that so far, the publishing industry has not solved the problem. This book contains a lot of interesting information, clearly explained and written for the layman and enjoyable to read, but do yourself a favour and buy it in paper.

Easy to read and a very informative book. Read it before starting my Msc in Investigative Psychology by David Canter. what goes through the minds of the people who commit such crimes but this book takes us on the journey of exploration to help us try to understand. Not only is this book easy to follow and extremely accessible, it introduces us to the phraseology, methods and techniques the police and detective use when we read in the media about crime investigation and the apprehension of criminals. It gives us a clear insight into the complex process of bringing criminals to justice. David Canter presents this book in a down to earth style with hard facts as well as anecdotes and can be read either in depth or used as a quick reference to help us understand better the causes and effects of the crimes which are perpetrated all too frequently in our society. It is rather spookily right up to the minute.
