Solo Paste Marzipan, 8 oz

I really like this brand of almond paste. I used it to make Italian rainbow cookies, and they turned out excellent! The flavor and texture were just right, and it worked well in my recipe. I’ll definitely be buying from this brand again, and I plan to purchase a larger amount next time because one package wasn’t quite enough.

Excellent product. 8 oz is a small package. I needed 2 boxes to make a batterberg cake and one box made about 10 pieces of fruit shaped marzipan candy, although I only made 9. I needed to roll it out to cover my battenberg cake and I used powdered sugar to avoid sticking to a wood board. I didnt need to, and it made the marzipan dryer than optimal. Try rolling without the powdered sugar. I found it did not stick, ever, and was much more pliable and workable. Good flavor.

Nice almond paste. Made delicious pignolis.

Although the picture shows the marzipan was in a can, it wasn't but I had read about it in reviews so I knew to expect it. When I opened the package I found it to be drier than I expected. This was based on a comparison of another brand I had used first. I found it was hard to work the color in. I had to work fast to mold the marzipan because it would start cracking. Also one of the ingredients was corn syrup. Why? The other brand I had used did not have corn syrup and I liked it much better.

Hard to find in grocery stores. Easy to just have delivered!
