I am an architectural and interior design drafting instructor. When looking for lettering guides, you must select the Staedtler brand guide. ALL other brands are not good, and here is why: the center circle should not be too loose, or you will have unevenly spaced lines for annotation. This is an instrument and should be precise. Staedtler is the only brand left that holds up to the specifications of the early Ames lettering guides. My students purchase the Ames lettering guide every semester, and only this brand works the way it should.

Pour ceux qui ne font pas tout en numérique ce petit machin est tout simplement génial. Si vous devez écrire à la main un texte ou un titre il évite un travail fastidieux de traçage. Sa rotation permet de paramétrer la hauteur des caractères. La prise en main est rapide. Son utilisation est super rapide, régulière et je le trouve ''fun''.

Thank you, at first I could not get the disc to move, I think it was a little tight but it is fine now and working well. I think it is ways too expensive tho and only got it for alphabetic caps but its use covers a wide range.

This is a great tool for anyone interested in lettering or design. Marked down because it is so expensive. These things sell in the US for less than $5 so £19 is a little outrageous.
