I am very happy with this product, and would buy it again
Having roasted coffee for my personal use for over 12 years, I have used several different coffee roasters. I purchased this unit as a replacement for the previous model that finally gave up the ghost after many years of service. This roaster works very well for me and my family. It is reliable and with a very little practice this roaster provides consistent, balanced, even roasts every time. I can use it on my stove top using the exhaust fan to eliminate any small amounts of smoke generated in the process. I have recommended this unit to friends and family and will purchase it again. Should the need arise.

Roast your own coffee
Thought I'd roast coffee. Started out on a Colman camp stove, not bad but busy. This roaster makes it easier and better. Worth the price. I drank coffee for decades, all kinds, but when I got some good green coffee beans from all over the world and roasted them, I realized that I never drank good coffee before. Now I do.

Decent but Needs Improvement
This coffee bean roaster works fine for light use, but it feels more like an entry-level appliance than a real roaster. It does the job for small batches, but the heat distribution is uneven, and some beans roast faster than others. The noise level is tolerable, but the build quality feels cheap, and the controls could be clearer. It’s okay for beginners just learning the process, though it doesn’t give the consistency you’d want for serious roasting. Cleanup is easy, but the small capacity limits what you can do at once. Overall, it’s fine for casual use, but not worth it if you’re hoping for professional-level results.

Lacks power to stir properly.
I was super excited about this but unfortunately I'm incrediblely disappointed. I turned on the roaster to preheat and the center pieced turned perfectly fine. The moment I added the nuts to the pan the blades seemed to get stuck and resist turning. They just shifted back and forth with no real progression. It's like it doesn't have enough power to turn past the nuts. I got this so I could roast batches and essentially walk away for a moment but I have to manually stir just like I would if I was roasting on the stove. Waste of money. Also temp is in Celsius so be mindful of that. I didn't catch it before purchasing otherwise I would have picked a different product based on that alone. Not the end of the world to Google the temp difference but still an annoyance I didn't want.

I roast a lot of coffee
I have a small coffee farm in the Kona Coffee belt of Hawaii. I grow enough for our needs and some holiday gifts for family and friends. I roast about 100 pounds a year. In the roaster world there is only small roasters like this one or big (expensive) roasters. This particular model is my favorite. I can generally get about 50 pounds roasted with one before it dies. It is easy to use. I will say though, ignore the capacity they show for coffee roasting. About 300 grams of green coffee beans is the optimum amount. Less cooks too quickly and is hard to control. More seems to bog down the machine's stirrer and it takes way too long to roast.

I have used this roaster for green coffee half dozen times now. I set it at 220degrees and let it warm up at least 10min before adding beans. Use outside or a well ventilated area!! Coffee beans when roasting produced smoke. I found off setting the lid slightly at the beginning of the roast helps keep the humidity down. Humidity causes some beans to stick to the lid and not roast. Removing the lid entirely while running will likely result in beans spilling over (494g or 16oz bag of green coffee). Timer must be on for element to work. Not something you want to set and walk away from. You need to keep an eye on it to avoid over roasting. Depending in the breeze and outside temperature the time it takes to get to a medium roast will vary quite a bit. I have had it done in 38min a few times while other times as long as 70min. I also keep a log book detailing weather conditions, time of day, warm up time, roaster temp and anything else I do that I want to make note of. Machine works great and no issues so far.

These roast coffee incredibly well, I've been using this type of roaster for many years to roast coffee, i do a dark roast and these really roast to and color depth you want and evenly too. They are easy to clean i use this unit about 2x a week, for about 45mins total. My only complaint is these units do no have a long life, the longest one of these lasted for me is 2 years, doesn't matter what name is on it, they all come from the same factory.

A blonde roast, which should take ten minutes took over 40. This was with pre-heating. The metal arms are made of coat hanger and scrape the bottom non stick surface. The motor is garbage, continually stopped during roasting, creating an uneven roast. I had to manually get the motor turning several times. Only used 700G of beans 50G shy of the recommended max. Also the timer just dings....meaning it does not shut off the roaster, making it completely useless. Awful machine
