It works at keeping a clean pond!
I have struggled with algae in my pond (approx 500 gallons) for the last two years. Spending hundreds on muck removers, beneficial bacteria, etc. I was at a breaking point and purchased this as a last resort. We've had it in for just over a month and not the slightest sign of algae. The only thing I would advise newer users to do would be to start at the lowest level (even if you have a lot of algae) and slowly inch it up (1 level per approx 10 days) if you have aquatic animals in the water (fish, tadpoles, etc) so that you don't shock them with the copper levels. I installed it and put it to level 10, which shocked a few of our tadpoles, and all I needed was level 2. This thing actually works at keeping your pond algae free!

You need this for your pond
I have a waterfall and pond in my backyard. Every spring, summer and fall the algae buildup gets bad. I've been spending tons of money spready algicide and an Oxy type granule to keep the pond clear. I should have upgraded to this thing years ago. This was easy to install and my pond is SUPER clear! Doesn't seem to be harming the plants or ecosystem. Money well spent!

Item was unfortunately broken
This item unfortunately didn’t work when it arrived. When I power up the Iogen system I couldn’t get the control panel to turn on. I use these systems on multiple koi ponds in Oregon and this is the first one that I’ve received that doesn’t work. Anywho koi fish kick ass & so do u!!!

Kills most all living things
I have a 300 gal. pond that was plagued by algae and couldn't be controlled with herbicides without killing our fish. On recommendation from a local water feature installer, I decided to install the Iongen system in April 2024. First I pressure washed the pond and added new water. I set the Iongen at the #2 position and added fish and water lilies. The fish died within two days and the Cu level as too high. I turned off the unit and waited to see signs of algae before re-starting it, added fish again. I checked the Cu level every 4 days or so. For the next three months everything seemed to be fine, but the algae control needed me to up the setting from 1, up to 4 in the three months. By the end of July the pond became quite green. I cleaned the Cu probe and turned it up to 5. After another week without success, I upped the setting to 7. At that point when I checked the Cu level, it was toxic to the fish, the lilies were turning yellow. I rescued the fish and plants and removed the Iongen. I'm sure it would have eventually cleared the algae, but if you desired water plants, fish and frogs, this isn't the unit for you. I found a dead frog and the fish were in bad shape at the end of this experiment. I am sure this device would satisfy water feature customers that do not wish living things in their pond/waterfall.

Works, for a single season
It works well on string algae but only lasts one season. My pond is small, only a few hundred gallons with about 75% surface coverage of plants, mostly water lilies.

Amazing Product.
We had a major string algae issue in our koi pond during the first fall we had it. Got so tired of manually tearing it out and this was highly recommended by our pond installer. Easily installed this and we have not had a single string algae issue since.

IOGEN G2
We built a pond in our back yard during the winter months in California (lol never rains in California ) because of the severe drought in California we are using less water in the pond than watering grass twice a week. Our pond came out beautiful bought some small Koi and two small turtles. The water stayed clear until we had a heat wave and the string algae blossomed. we treated the pond with algaecide and the chemicals were working but not like we wanted, We purchased the IOGEN and installation was fairly easily....it has been about 3 weeks since it was installed and the IOGEN is actually making a difference with no added chemicals. Wahoo the fish and turtles (and at home supervisor) are happy, Looks like we are going to be grandparent's to a couple koi soon.

String algae NO MORE 👍
I have a great diy eco system pond, but I have some trouble with string algae every summer. I've a great fan of AQUASCAPE INC, and finaly i was able to find a dealer who would ship aquascape products to denmark 👍😁 Love American quality👍

Not got it working yet for the following reasons I assume this was shipped from America as it arrived with a non UK plug which was a little frustrating. The instructions state to hand tighten pipework but this doesn't make a proper seal and it leaked In attempting to tighten I over tightened (my fault entirely) and broke the chamber that the copper sits in. Be very careful not to make the same mistake as me. Luckily I was able to source a replacement chamber for free from a friendly supplier. If adding to an existing pond its a real pain to get the pipework right and keep the chamber the right way up. Once I redo the pipework for the 4th time and get the US/UK adapter I will finally be able to see if it works! 2 star rating solely based on ease of installation which could totally be down to my incompetence

we were skeptical but I have to say it improved the maintenance of the pond beyond our hopes. It lasted a year will likely have to get new prongs for this year.

Well constructed, but be careful when connecting the controller to power and the probe. The connectors are not marked and are very similar. The manual doesn't identify them. I had to use the BOT for clarification. However, the unit seems to be working well.

We have a fairly large pond with fish and were having issues with slimy, stringy algae. A friend mentioned this product and while we thought it was pretty expensive, it's proven to be totally worth the money. It's cleared up the algae problem in about 2 or 3 weeks. Money well spent!
