Roland by far is the best electronic percussion gear out there and it just keeps ...
It performed as expected and more. The responsiveness is flawless. It accurately delivers every feel that I put into it. Highly practical when you have gigs in more than one place. It is very roadworthy as proven with my other roland gears. Roland by far is the best electronic percussion gear out there and it just keeps getting better. Keep up the good work Roland.

Good updgrade
Works perfect and stays put. Feels more natural than the all rubber heads. Built like a tank. I like these better than Roland's expensive mesh ones.

Performs very good, but loud
Works really well with double pedal and Yamaha DTX 400K (had to increase gain via the app though). But the pad is VERY loud if you play with heel up, even when with Enans patches. That's why I'll replace it with Yamaha KP 100

This is not the cheapest e pedal, but it is the most responsive with reletively little room noise
I had one for years- worked hard until it didn't . There was a repair, but it was more work than what I wanted to do. Got a new one in time for the gig!

Roland KD9 for Yamaha DTX 520 & KP65
I bought this to replace my Yamaha KP65 that came with my Yamaha DTX520. I found the KP65 to be acoustically loud and a bit hard in terms of feel. When I tried out several e-kits, I found that the Roland KD9 had a great feel and was much quieter than the KP65 but I found the DTX 520 to be a much better kit and value over the similar Roland kits such as the TD4 (all mesh head version). So, I went with the DTX 520 and swapped out the kick pads after reading that they were compatible (there is a bit on the net regarding this very issue). The KD9 works as planned and intended, but the volume produced by the DTX500 'brain' with the KD9 (at the same settings as the KP65) is quite low. This could be changed from some tweaking but I have not had a chance to do so yet. Overall, it works, feels great, and is much quieter acoustically than the KP65.

the kd 7, small but mighty!
I've used Roland products for over 15 years, and in my opinion, they are the best out there. The Roland company has over the years, put in a lot of research and thought into improving all of their products. Today, I will give you my unsolicited take on the KD-7. I've been playing the electronic drums since the mid 90's and used a few other manufactures systems as well. I like the KD-7 because of the size and the new improvements made to this great kick pad. You can now add a second pedal through the link provided and the base spurs and plate are almost immovable once adjusted and set. The size is key, because of the limited space that is available on certain stage venues. Compared to the KD-8 tower pad, this one is about 1/4 the size. The special beater that comes with it is great beacause it allows you to use almost any bass drum pedal. Finally, the sound signal produced from this pad is as great as all the rest of Roland's kick pads and the playability is as good too!
